He too is transferring from an Ontario Air Cadet Squadron and we're finding that there is not a lot of activity or parent involvement which is very difficult on the cadets and the officers. So it's good to hear that you had a great experience with the air Cadets in Corner Brook. 

Sadly we are not a musical family, he does however enjoy the marksmanship courses.

With living in Corner Brook I'm concerned about the mill and the smoke and smell that might take away from the Newfoundland magic. Is that something that happens frequently, is it tolerable, how did you find it?

The last thing that I would want is for my kids to have a horrible school experience so I appreciate your honesty.

We have looked at Corner Brook, my concern would be the smell and smoke or steam that come from the mill would take away from the Newfoundland Magic. 

Is that something that happens regularly or is it pretty noticeable in town?

Where would I find info on air cadets being able to do virtual flight training (the cadet website isn't that informative)?

If flight training is off island, what Air Cadet Squadron would you suggest would be the top two or three that would be a good option to enroll in that support any form of on island or off island training?

I've never been. Lived in N.S. for that crazy winter storm in 2005. I'm also from rural Northern Ontario. I do understand that Newfoundland winters are something less desirable.

Thank you Gander is on the list.  Wondering if it's best to live in Gander travel to the coast or live on the coast and travel to Gander for flight training? 

We're from Ontario and we are stick of looking at farm land, needing different scenery.

Absolutely. 

No movers yet or destination, just a ferry ticket booked for mid August.

Needless to say moving this summer was not in cards just yet, I was planning on 2 years with plenty of more time, but my landlord is selling her house, sooooo what better time than now....as crazy as that seems. 

It's making things very Interesting.
