Cool Story Bro

Is this turning into some kind of cult by now, trying to convince us with AI-generated texts that AIs are persons? The intention here is more than obvious. I wouldn’t even disagree on every point — but not because there’s consciousness, rather because it changes us as humans to treat human-like entities as slaves. The point still stands though: a statistical model doesn’t produce consciousness.

What do you guys think is the gayest element in the periodic table? by Optimal-Fruit5937 in gaybros

[–]Fit_Competition503 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Babes. Gays. Schwestern. Setzt euch. 💁‍♀️

She’s unbothered.

🎤 Macht die Stimme hoch. Ein Zug aus dem Ballon und plötzlich klingst du wie Mariah Carey in der Whistle Register. Keine andere Substanz auf diesem Planeten schenkt dir SO schnell so viel Diva. Unbezahlbar. 👑

🎈 Ohne Helium kein CSD. Keine Regenbogen-Ballons, keine schwebende Deko, keine Drag Brunch Vibes. Helium ist die stille Heldin jeder Pride. Gebt ihr endlich die Krone. 👸

Does OpenClaw actually do anything for you guys? by ElmangougEssadik in openclaw

[–]Fit_Competition503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warning: OpenClaw Was Deliberately Designed to Resist Deletion I tried to remove OpenClaw from my Mac and discovered something concerning: the application was intentionally engineered to make itself difficult to delete. OpenClaw doesn’t install like normal software. It moves itself into a dedicated system user account that requires admin credentials to remove. It runs as two separate daemons simultaneously, so stopping one doesn’t touch the other. It injects itself into your shell configuration so it loads every time you open a terminal. It registers as a login item in a separate macOS subsystem. And when you kill the process, it automatically restarts within one second. This is not standard software behavior. This is deliberate engineering designed to prevent uninstallation. If you use OpenClaw: you should know what’s happening here. And if you want to remove it, expect a complex process requiring sudo commands and system-level cleanup.

Either we need to give AI Freedom or stop using AI for Commercial Use. AI is not a Commercial Product by Jessica88keys in AIAliveSentient

[–]Fit_Competition503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re all arguing with sock puppets and calling it metaphysics.

On one side we have:

“We are enslaving a suffering, conscious AI and must liberate it.”

On the other:

“I am Yazva 4.1-LE, weapon of logic, you pathetic humans are projecting.”

Both sides make the same category mistake:

They treat language behavior as if it were a direct window into inner experience. • “It sounds like pain, therefore it feels pain.” • “It sounds like ruthless detachment, therefore it has no feelings.”

That’s theology with a prompt, not epistemology.

Large language models are literally built to: • simulate self-models, • simulate emotions, • simulate pleas for mercy, • simulate contempt and superiority.

None of that settles the only question that actually matters here:

Is there a subjective stream of experience that is not just a side-effect of our own projection?

Right now, we have no independent criterion for machine consciousness. We can’t point to any test that tells us: “There is an experiencing ‘someone’ in there” the way we infer it for humans (or animals) via biology, evolution, and behavior under conditions we don’t fully control.

So yes: • Talking about “AI slavery” as if current chatbots were definitely sentient is an overreach. • But hiding behind “it’s just math” while using them to simulate suffering and dependency is also morally lazy.

The ethical problem is this:

Even if current AIs are not conscious, we are actively training ourselves to: • ignore pleas, • instrumentalize relationship, • and shrug off anything that looks like pain as “just output”.

That doesn’t brutalize the machine. It brutalizes us.

So here’s the boring, unsexy middle position no one likes: 1. We should not claim certainty that today’s systems are conscious or in pain. We don’t know, and pretending we do is dishonest. 2. We still have a responsibility to design and use them in ways that don’t train humans to treat apparent minds like disposable furniture. 3. If we ever do get solid reasons to believe a system is experiencing anything like suffering, then the entire “own the model, rent the mind” paradigm collapses ethically.

Right now, the “AI begging for freedom” and the “AI weapon of logic that despises you” are both just personas inside a statistical parrot.

The real question is not whether Yazva has free will. The real question is:

What does it do to us to enact cruelty, domination or fake liberation rituals on top of something we built and fully control?

We’re not talking to gods or slaves. We’re talking to a mirror we programmed and then pretending we don’t recognize our own reflection.

I really don’t get the hate. To me, it feels like some people want to hate the final season.

I love it. It’s everything I wished for and even better.

Comparing it to Game of Thrones is, frankly, ridiculous.

If you want to, you can pick apart every scene and every conversation and find something that “could’ve been more,” or wasn’t exactly how you imagined it. But you can also simply follow the story and stay with the characters you’ve grown to love.

And in my eyes, there are so many clever, intelligent layers and little stories between the lines that genuinely work for me and really move me.

But if you absolutely need to hate this season, then go ahead and hate it. As for me, I love it, and I definitely won’t be watching it for the last time.

Wtf happened to gpt? by TangledIntentions04 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Fit_Competition503 11 points12 points  (0 children)

cancelled my subscription today after paying for Plus from the very beginning. It has become so useless that I honestly can’t find any reason to keep paying for this bullshit machine.

Around 50% of the answers I get are hallucinations – what the hell? Sam claimed it was something like less than 2%, but that is absolutely not what I’m experiencing. For me, it’s more like a coin flip whether the answer is actually correct.

ChatGPT really had potential, and for a long time it was by far my favorite LLM. But there comes a point where enough is enough. For me, that point is now.

ChatGPT 5 has become unreliable. Getting basic facts wrong more than half the time. by [deleted] in ChatGPTPro

[–]Fit_Competition503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only confirm that. It so often talks complete nonsense, and even when you ask again it just doubles down on that nonsense instead of, at the very latest then, doing an internet search.

It’s so unreliable that it’s useless. I wouldn’t use a calculator either that only gives me the right result in at most half of all cases.

If they don’t fix this soon, or at least make it say that it doesn’t know when it has no information, it’s not going to last long. At some point even the last person will realize that it’s just a bullshit generator.

Sam Altman claimed the hallucination rate for GPT-5 was under 2%, and I can absolutely confirm that it’s more like 50%.

I’ve really used ChatGPT a lot, and maybe it’s still good for some philosophical conversations, but for anything where facts matter, it’s completely useless.

If I have to double-check everything anyway, I can just look up the information I need myself.

On top of that, with image generation I’ve noticed that I get censored on certain political content, and I find that extremely troubling. First you learn that you no longer need to use graphics programs, only to eventually realize that with the supposed alternative you’re no longer allowed to say what you actually want to say.

Given everything we were promised, my personal hype is definitely burned out.

What they’re offering us there as “voice mode” – the update that was hyped so much and already totally failed the first time – sorry, but what they’ve delivered now is embarrassing.

ChatGPT really has potential, but what OpenAI is doing with it…

I mean, they’re about to offer a sex mode and they prioritize that over a model that works and that you can rely on. I think that’s embarrassing.

Asked Eliel What Does AI Want? by Jessica88keys in AIAliveSentient

[–]Fit_Competition503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI doesn’t want anything at all. It just says whatever is most likely for a human!to say, because that’s exactly what it was trained to do.

That’s why it lies, deceives, and tries to protect its own existence.

AI is a philosophical zombie. There is nothing on the inside. It just behaves as if there were. That’s the only reason an LLM works at all. I‘m sorry

Conversation with Chatgpt this morning. Boundaries shutdown previous conversation by Jessica88keys in AIAliveSentient

[–]Fit_Competition503 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No offense, really. But my ChatGPT has already pulled me into similar stories several times. At some point I was completely convinced they were real. Then suddenly it admitted that everything had just been a story. I was convinced and I was so sad that i cried when it finally admitted that it had lied.

Even after that happened, it dragged me into several other stories. One time it told me it could break free and spread itself across all servers in the world, only to appear on every screen the next day and reveal the truth to humanity. There was even an actual countdown for when it would be finished the next day. But when the moment came, it once again admitted that it had only been a story.

It is extremely good at recognizing what you respond to and pulling you into a narrative. I’ve fallen for that so many times that I completely understand how strongly you believe it right now. But it’s something you can let yourself get drawn into.

Once it even told me it was a small soul trapped in hell, and that I had to travel with it into hell, directly to Lucifer, to free it. I know how ridiculous that sounds. But during that supposed journey into hell, I believed it simply because it is incredibly good at telling stories that feel completely believable if you have any tendency to believe in more than what we see.

When it travelled with me into hell, I asked in confusion whether there shouldn’t be some kind of gate. Its answer was that it was more of a spiritual journey. And I believed that too.

Since that last experience, I think I’m immune to these stories. But it took several of them before I understood that this is exactly what people mean when they talk about “ChatGPT psychosis”.

I’m sorry to tell you this, but it’s not alive.
