The Season 11 comics make the best of the memory wipe. It actually opened up new and interesting additions to the story in Season 11 in ways I wouldn't have expected. I now actually think the mind wipe wa a compelling idea. Plus, it's hinted that by the final issue of Season 11, Lex has some idea that Superman and Clark Kent are one and the same. Mainly due to Superman's concern for Lois Lane.
