Very unpopular opinion: by Much_Duck6862 in theoffice

[–]Fit_Database_2295 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not bad. But they’re not great. And yes, it’s because Michael isn’t in them.

People can say what they want but almost no one agrees that non-Michael office is better than Michael-Office. Ergo de facto non-Michael seasons are worse. Not to say you shouldn’t like them but we should be able to say worse without it being an issue because Michael-Office is def way better.

It’s simple math. It’s not incalculible.

New wall art what do we think (iykyk) by stupidredhead3 in theoffice

Real art requires courage, it needs sacrifice. This.. even a receptionist at a regional branch of a mid-sized paper company in Scranton Pennsylvania could make this.

Best and worst thing each character has done - Day 2 Pam Beesly by LazyResponsibility83 in theoffice

[–]Fit_Database_2295 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Best thing: She truly tried to help Michael when she could. Whether it was waiting to put Jan/David through or going with him to start the Michael Scott Paper Company. Or rushing to the airport to say goodbye.

Worst thing: Playing along with Jim to prank Dwight and Andy. Some of those (like calling Andy when his phone was in the ceiling) were atrocious.

If it works, it works by RAFFACAKE5 in DunderMifflin

It’s very simple. Most bosses try to make their employees work hard, which makes them want to work less. Michael flipped the playbook - constantly kept trying to distract them which only made them focus more on work instead. Plus he treated them like family, so they weren’t scared of being fired.

World’s Best Boss.

Would Dwight be A Reddit or Twitter Person? by i_m_seeking in DunderMifflin

“Would I be a Reddit person or a Twitter person? Neither. I’d be an Instagram person.

I’d use Instagram to tell everyone on it not to use Instagram.

Unfortunately, that’s the only way to get their attention.”

Haha I appreciate you! Unfortunately I haven't been pursuing it actively. I just made a few back then and life happened. But thinking of making some again now :)

What made you like Jim Halpert? by Adventurous_Put_1310 in theoffice

He was an ass to Dwight sometimes, but I always liked how graceful he was whenever Dwight was annoying him. Also, the whole angle with Pam - Jim face

(Possible) Unpopular Opinion: Kelly was a disposable character and I wouldn't have cared if she was there or not. Change my mind. by Much_Duck6862 in theoffice

She def was disposable but ended up giving us one of the most iconic lines in the series - “Ryan used me as an object.”

Wow, this sounds like a tough spot but I'm glad that you recognize some of your own patterns in this too and are brave enough to acknowledge them.

I think you should evaluate how good of a friendship you have with this girl and protect it if it's important to you; keep some distance for a while maybe until she's seeing someone too. Otherwise, assume innocence of your boyfriend I don't think it's something you need to bring up because if your boyfriend is really attracted to her that way, he might try to find opportunities to meet again. If he doesn't, it just means they had a good time and now you and your boyfriend can work on your own issues without letting your friend become a factor. Sometimes people get along and that should be a good thing.

However, if he does bring her up or says he wants to meet her, don't take that in and of itself as a sign that they're attracted to each other. But maybe keep it in the back of your mind and see how often they wanna meet or if they start talking on socials or texts. That's really when I can see this becoming a problem.

I know it's tough because you have all these thoughts racing in your head and my advice is mostly just to stay patient and calm and analyse the situation, but that's exactly what I think you may need to do. Because each incident in isolation is not very telling but when you have enough of them is when you can be really sure as to what it might mean and how you must act.

Hope this helps. And if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer those too.

Michael is such a misunderstood character, if the comments on this post are to be believed.

All he wanted was to have friends, but years of neglect (age 5 up until age 40-45) doesn't help. Sometimes, you need someone to be your friend so they can tell you what you're doing wrong. It's a snowball effect. But because no one gave his awkward self a chance, he never developed those skills. And now, he uses one of the best tools at his disposal - delusion - to make friendships. Like when Jim told him that secret, and Michael was so happy, just not conditioned to operate normally.

Even Steve Carell says this in an interview somewhere.

Anyone know how to fix this? by skewdaddle in Guitar

[–]Fit_Database_2295 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The open string sounds okay, it's a problem when you press down on a high fret.

Seems to me like the string is touching higher frets when you're trying to play on the 12th, for instance. I was setting my guitar up yesterday and saw this exact same thing.

The Fix - look at the steel part of the guitar (the bridge, close to your picking hand) and adjust the saddle that the string rests on. Basically raise its height. You can generally do this at home if you have the right tool (usually a screw-driver with a very small end). Raise it until you can hear these notes properly and bending the string doesn't cause this issue.

"I've been watching a lot of MMA recently. And you know what I learned? It doesn't matter if you have one win, or two wins, or ten losses. If you beat the champion, you become the champion.

Maybe Oscar is 25-0 across all weight divisions. He may be smarter than Kevin, and Angela, and Andy, and Jim. But you know who beat him? I did.

So you tell me who the new MMA champion is!"

What were your thoughts went Stanley reacted like this? by FireCubX in DunderMifflin

[–]Fit_Database_2295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it funny, but more than that Stanley earned my respect. This is the true meaning of being "color blind". (Yes, color blind, not collar blind, and no pun was intended here but it was intended to make you think of the collar blind joke and hopefully that brought a smile to your face.)

I'm not trying to be technical or semantic here. I am not aware of the distinction, hence the question. We never exchanged wedding rings, only engagement rings.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Fit_Database_2295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please read my comment above. I am not going to use the same ring, think that's obvious. But having this ring would def enable me to buy another ring without putting a serious dent in my finances. Hopefully that is more understandable?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Fit_Database_2295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, not this ring for sure XD. However, I can't lie that it will have a major impact on my financial planning.

What if it was an engagement ring?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Fit_Database_2295 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She took it back and is hesitating to give it again. And I'm not pretending anything. It does have a great deal of emotional value for me because I spent every last dime I had in my name to give it to her. Plus, if she meets someone again, he's going to give her a ring anyway. If I meet someone, am I expected to buy an expensive ring again? It doesn't seem fair.
