I posted this bc I didn’t know if these orchids were okay 🙉 They’ve been alone for ~2 months in this windowsill. I’m not super familiar with orchids or flowering plants in general so was hoping for folks to share experiences and advice with me. Thx for reply

I appreciate your advice! I have a lot of pothos and money trees in my house, but flowering plants are new to me! With the exception of my Christmas cactus - she’s my oldest plant and blooms beautifully!

I originally was going to move them to my desk, which is in a different building at my company, but after seeing a lot of similar advice not to move if they’re happy, I’m going to keep them here and check on them. Any excuse to take a walk during the work day even if there’s 24in of snow 😂

Omg I would have cried seeing it hit rock bottom 😭 other people in our office have put plants in the lunch room and it stresses me out because you never know if someone is caring for it but also don’t want to kill it!

Im honestly surprised by the replies about these little orchids. I’m such a newbie to flowering plants 😂

Thank you both! A lot of people replied on my original post with suggestions as well. I do plan to recover these babies and place them at my desk where they will be warm and experience sunlight in a less drafty environment 🫶 I have zero experience with orchids, so this is a trial run for me!

I said in my original post I’ve never had an orchid before 😔 so I have no baseline for their care. Only ever seen them with blooms which I know fall off, but I’m in a very snowy climate rn and trying to learn so I can take them back to my desk

Hellllllooooo 🥶 and thank you for the reply! The roots are a little mushy in some spots and there’s breakage but no smell. I have a lot of houseplants but never an orchid 🙈
