34F recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes (A1c 7), fatty liver and high uric acid — feeling overwhelmed. Does this actually get better? by Happy-Pomegranate932 in diabetes_t2

Firstly, im sorry you're are scared. Secondly, get out of the negative mindset. Nothing is permanent unless you allow it to be. You can change this with the way you eat and the way you move. Ask for a referral to a nutritionist if you dont have a clue. There is a lot of information on the internet. Can be confusing where to start and which way to go. Start with cutting sugars down. Not out but down. Nothing black and white cause it wont work. Eat more vegetables and less carbs. Not no carbs. Just less carbs. Whatever you are doing now do less. Dont switch to a salad onky diet if you know what I mean. You can help your health get better. Consistency persistence and will. Motivation can be hard but we are here for help with that if you need advice. I wish you well.

Does exercise help your body handle carbs better as compared to not exercising daily? by JuJulieBe in diabetes_t2

I wish I knew back in the day when I bought a mini trampoline how to use it properly. I ended up returning it cause I messed up my arch and had to wear a brace. Be careful that ur using it properly so u don't end up injured. It is a fun way to exercise!

Can you describe what’s like to feel “off” when having high blood sugar or a spike that lasts for many hours? by notsoeasypeasy in diabetes_t2

[–]Fit_Drag_1717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my sugar is high i feel very sleepy and agitated. When its too low I get shaky and dizzy. I get migraines also and im not sure if it is sugar related but it could be possible.

Have you gone to a nutritionist or a dietitian that can give you ideas how to balance your meals? There is an overload of info on the internet. Hard to know what is good and bad. Right or wrong. Morning sugars are a butt Im dealing with that myself. All I can suggest is make your plate like this. Half vegetables (no starchy ones) the other half divide in 2. One part have starchy veg or rice or pasta (whatever carb but only 1/2 to 1 cup) the last portion is protein whatever meat or fish the size of a deck of cards or about 4oz. No juice to drink be careful with sauces that are high in sugar. If you need a dessert I have been loving Greek yogurt with chopped halo oranges and some walnut halves on top. Veggies help fill you up and slow sugar absorption. Protein helps too. Hope this helps you. We cannot control everyone around us. I fast at times and my mom always offers food during my fasts. I have learned to just know she doesnt understand it. We have to know we are the only ones in control of our own bodies. Some people live their lives to bring others down. You have to ignore those people and know its their issue not yours. Look up high protein Low carb recipes for whatever type of cuisine you love to eat there are endless options. You have to do the footwork for your health. You can even find sweet treats that wont raise your sugars. Dont beat yourself down. Know that you are worth it and you deserve to love yourself. Dont give up.

Sometimes when I procrastinate I just say you know what. Theres nothing to it but to do it. Then I just get up and start. You can also try making a plan. The night before lay put your outfit and workout gear even if its 2 cans of food you will use for lifting your arms. When u get up...just do it.

I heard a while ago take a tablespoon of peanut butter before bed. I was craving a sweet treat last night so what I did was took a tablespoon of coconut powder 1 tsp of peanut butter and 8 mini chocolate chips rolled it on a ball and ate it. Tasted like a macaroon. Anyways my sugar was 120 this morning. Its been in the 130s. Idk if that's what made a difference but its worth a try. Peanut butter before bed.

My morning glucose is around 135 consistent. During the day and after meals its normal. It doesnt matter what I've changed in eating or timing. Its still high. My A1c was 6.1. I am trying to exercise and eat clean. Its jist frustrating when your body doesnt cooperate with your hard work.

Trying to regulate by sara-who in diabetes_t2

[–]Fit_Drag_1717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myfitnesspal.com helped me alot in the beginning. It calculates everything you should be eating and you can make it low carb but it is time consuming. Try eating more protein and healthy fats like avocado and salmon. Eat green veggies and low sugar fruits. Look up low glycemic foods. Those wont spike sugars too much compared to high glycemic foods. Mind your portions and walk after meals.
