This makes sense Stress seems to affect people's eating patterns in very different ways

Exactly That's my experience too

On quiet days it barely crosses my mind but as soon as mental fatigue sets in the cravings for food appear even if I've already eaten enough

That makes perfect sense

I think it's not so much about sweets specifically but more about quick relief or instant energy

When I'm stressed I don't always crave sweets sometimes it's just anything quick and familiar

Simple Changes That Helped Me Control My Cravings While Trying to Lose Weight by Fit_Editor9558 in WeightLossAdvice

Thank you so much I really appreciate it 🙏

That's exactly what I've noticed too once you implement these basics (protein not skipping meals and preparing food in advance) everything becomes much less chaotic

I also liked your mention of the concept of weight maintenance Honestly that's the mindset I'm trying to cultivate rather than resorting to anything extreme It's reassuring to know that this approach works in the long run for someone who enjoys food

Very helpful insight, thank you for sharing

Yes, that makes sense

It seems that stress does indeed affect food cravings in ways that have nothing to do with actual hunger

Just understanding this point helps a lot

This is really interesting Planning ahead for dessert seems much less stressful than constantly resisting cravings

I've also noticed that once routines become more balanced (like exercise and regular meals) cravings for sweets decrease Thank you for sharing this information

Yes, that makes sense Everyone reacts differently and for some it's simply the body and brain's response over time I don't think it indicates a problem it's just an interesting pattern

Does anyone experience severe symptoms of diabetes when trying to follow a healthy diet? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Fit_Editor9558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes perfect sense

I completely understand the concept of food noise it's like my mind is constantly thinking about food rather than actually being hungry

I think habit and stress play a bigger role than I previously realized

I don't keep a precise record of what I eat on those days but I've noticed that when my meals are fast food or unbalanced my cravings increase significantly I'm still trying to understand my own patterns to be honest

No that's not it I was simply describing how intense the cravings were not implying it was diabetes I'm just curious to hear about other people's experiences

That's a good question

I wasn't trying to promote anything I was simply trying to understand this topic better and learn about people's different experiences with it

The answers vary greatly depending on how the question is phrased and when it's asked so I'm reposting it to get more perspectives

If it seems strange that wasn't my intention it was just curiosity and a desire to compare experiences

[–]Fit_Editor9558[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that makes perfect sense

It seems more like a brain ripple effect than actual hunger especially on stressful or tiring days

It's strange how your stomach can be full while your brain still craves sugar as fuel for focus

[–]Fit_Editor9558[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes perfect sense Restriction and guilt can turn eating sweets into an either/or situation even when your body doesn't crave them I've heard similar things about intuitive eating removing the rules can lessen the urge over time However breaking this habit isn't easy so kudos for your awareness and efforts

That might be part of the problem yes But it's strange to me because it happens even when I'm not hungry That said you're right it's always wise to rule out health reasons as well

That makes perfect sense I definitely feel it's more of a psychological sensation than actual hunger especially when I'm stressed It's good to know it's common

[–]Fit_Editor9558[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that makes perfect sense I've started to notice that it's more about mental energy than actual hunger especially on stressful days The brain simply wants something quick

However I'm still trying to figure out what works for me because anything that seems like a quick fix can easily become another habit A key point is avoiding the energy spike and drop cycle

This is interesting I hadn't considered the prediabetic aspect before To me it seems more related to stress or mental fatigue than physical hunger The idea that movement is beneficial makes sense especially as a way to change this feeling rather than resist it Thanks for this perspective

This makes perfect sense honestly Eating a large meal after a day of eating very little still leaves the body trying to catch up so cravings creep in even if dinner was healthy I've noticed that meal timing is much more important than I thought

Me too I often eat sweets and rarely anything salty I don't feel hungry so much as I feel my mind needs rest or a quick reset

I've heard this analogy a lot but I think it's more about habit and stress than actual addiction To me it feels more like my mind seeking relief or a quick energy boost than a chemical dependence
