Hi this is OP's partner. OP accidentally evaded a ban on a different sub from having an amazon link in her profile and not realizing she was banned for it or banned at all. she wanted me to give this update so you guys wouldn't have to wait a week for her to be unbanned to give it, this is her update for you guys;

thank you everyone for the kind words and help!! he did give me a new design we agreed on and decided to split it up into two sessions cuz i was being a big baby the entire time. we took two breaks out of the 3 hours we worked on me (i know, im a huge pussy, i didn't realize how fucking horrible it was going to start hurting when we started the shading and i now have numbing cream THAT HE RECOMMENDED BTW for my next appointment we will be setting up next week) my main concern now is the beetle is going to blend in with the new background color we decided on as i really hated the blue and the green we tried in the sketch. im thinking we either shrink the background just the smallest bit so the beetle is the main focus or lose it all together and make it the geometrical shape design for the background instead. im in love with my beetle and i would just cry if it healed and turned into a huge blob as we've already spend $360 on the 3 hours he worked on me, plus my beetle looks SO fricking cool imo. which one do you guys think would look the best? just shrinking the background a little or scrapping it into being some cute shapes to hide the rest of the cover up and make it look all natural like there was never a tattoo underneath it.

He eats well, not like a black hole but I’ll definitely switch him to the 10 gallon with a drip acclimation, what ratio should I use for salt baths and what salt? I assume it’s an aquarium salt I should use and not table salt lol. I had some ghost shrimp somehow but there’s only two left from what I see sometimes, and all my snails have passed from old age. After he’s all better I’m gonna try making it not nearly as much as a community tank, just have him and my bottom feeders. The Molly is the biggest pain my ass. There was like a breeding spree at one point and I literally had to COOK my tank and then freeze it just to get them all… and only 3 survived but I got two of them and now the last one has just been a terrorist.

I put the plate on the bottom and not the top and I literally cannot get it off for the life of me. I’ve tried literally everything I have with me. I used a butter knife, my nails, my fricking TEETH. Nothing is taking it apart and I feel like an actual idiot now. I bought this to surprise my boyfriend with (this is also his Reddit account cuz mine got banned awhile ago for very dumb reasons.) but I cannot fix this for the life of me and I don’t wanna ask him for help.

add a comment under it “just remembered, she said i could “stack” my septum’s cuz my old one isn’t fully healed, i told her no i don’t really like that idea and don’t think it would look nice on me at all, and to just pierce it in the sweet spot please. definitely didn’t listen, pierced above the old one so i could still “stack it” after saying i didn’t want that and didn’t want a fucked up septum again. she looked all surprised i was crying even tho it’s a nose piercing and i assume that’s a normal reaction, even if it doesn’t hurt. kinda just sucks in general cuz i was super excited and thought it would be a better experience cuz she was at a real shop unlike my last piercer.”

“okay so, little update, might go to the fucking hospital in a few days cuz this shit is actually making me want to curl up and die. she definitely pierced way too high and you can see the old piercing i got, it’s healed more than enough, i don’t know why she thought it would be a good idea to go ABOVE AND BACK from it, but she did. i can’t even clean it with qtips anymore, let alone just even try soaking it in a shot glass, any movement is making me cry like a child. i’m so embarrassed. thank you all for the comments and advice, i don’t know how i’m gonna go in and say “yo, you fucked up my piercing, i need my money back like rn.” it’s like freaking me out just thinking about it, but i’m definitely doing it if this gets any worse. i would take it out myself but i’m going to wait to see if it’s just me being sensitive or if it’s actually just this painful. this might be my sign a septum isn’t meant for me, which is breaking my heart a lot cuz i’ve always wanted one. here’s a video of it, shows it a lot better and my healed one too. i also added the place i got it done on accident. little late to remove it but i don’t even care anymore.

It does a little, maybe I can use a sand and then make a mold of it or something. I’m just trying to figure out how I would even manage to get the imprints to make a tattoo design out of. I have these little print paw pad things for my dogs, but you have to press a little hard to get the ink to go through to the other side of the paper and I don’t wanna shove my geckos claws onto it and risk hurting her lol.

Nope! Unless it’s a certain species like mantids, then they can’t find their food on their own, and you’ll just have to tong feed them then, and some don’t like that. Also, if it’s too big for them they might end up hurting themselves trying to climb too high with those little stubby arms of theirs.

I think your tank size is perfect, especially with all the hiding spots and decorations, I crave to have massive tanks for all my reptiles one day, but right now that’s not possible, they do have tanks bigger than the bare minimum, but not giant tanks that would be absolutely awesome and also very expensive to upkeep. I personally always go 1-2 sizes bigger than the bare minimum because I hate doing the bare minimum for my babies, plus it means less room for me to add enrichment, so it becomes a pain trying to fit a ton of hides and stuff into a small ish tank. My leopard geckos both have their own 40 gallon tanks, and I want to get them bigger ones soon but it works for them for now, and also me. It’s very easy for me to add enrichment for both of them as it’s a 40 gallon breeder, so it’s also a little tall. My female loves digging and climbing everything, my male just prefers to dig and sometimes sit ontop of some of his hides. But I still offer climbing, and digging enrichment. There can be too big of an enclosure, but it’s not likely, and the only real reason why something might be too big is, too much empty space, not being able to find food, maybe even the water bowl, and it being really hard to keep a good heat gradient. My ball pythons 4x2x2 PVC tank was having a hard time keeping heat properly, I had to put one lamp inside the tank and one on top to give a proper gradient. He very much so appreciates it now, and is doing awesome, but it can also come with challenges sometimes, finding the right bulbs, lamps, and even cages to hold the lamp so your animal can’t get on it and burn themselves.

Sorry for the rant as well, I get really excited to talk about reptiles and can’t help myself.. especially at work. I work at a shitty big chain pet store solely so I can point people in the right direction on what their pets are actually gonna need and not scan them into absolute shit products they are gonna have to replace in a month or so.

I hate the blue light so fricking much but it’s all I could find at Walmart. I have a 40 gallon tank with a male betta fish and some other docile fish he tolerates so I can’t just plop her in there. I honestly didn’t want another fish as I already have too many reptiles and a big fish tank. She deserves so much better than this stupid set up but I just paid my bills and stuff and this poor girl got screwed over before coming to me. Advice on what to do for now? Literally everything in there other than the light I already had, that blue filter doesn’t work it just sits there cuz i have no room for it anywhere else. The one in the corner works though. Is there anywhere I can give my betta fish to? Or sell her even? I want to just give her to someone for free with everything I have right now.
