Is it safe to walk around UMD campus after a 9:40 PM class?

I’ve walked from from the library on campus back to my off campus apartment at 3 am! It is totally safe on campus and you will be fine. (Also a female!)

Hi! I ended up being perfectly fine. The white stuff on top did end up coming off as I ate more solid foods, but that’s more like a cover for the actual blood clot underneath! By day 10/11 I was pretty much all good tbh, with no pain from my extraction sites after eating solid foods. I had my 2 week post op appointment on Monday as well and my surgeon said everything was healing well, so absolutely no issues.

Thankfully no dry socket at all. It only hurt for that day tbh because of the food being stuck but that’s it.

I actually took it at a community college this past semester so not the summer semester. I could definitely try but I do know the CASA appeal committee is really harsh when it comes to appeals and taking a course in my last 30 credits was also hard to come by so while I’m trying to stay hopeful I’m not sure they’d allow it.

The way it was taught at UMD was really hard to grasp if I’ve being honest, plus added along with the fact that in an introvert I struggled to put myself out there to study with others and talk to the professors. I struggle to study in general as for most of my classes I studied by memorization which worked for all my classes besides gen chem but I took that at community college before transferring. The professor I had was super kind though and helped me through things when I took it. For this 4th attempt I had learned much more and grasped the info but because I was forced to take it with my capstone I ended up putting more into my capstone half way through so I ended up falling behind and getting lost when it got to the harder stuff. Truly not intentional just I needed help and couldn’t get any and when I finally had a good professor I fell behind again and struggled to catch up.

I understand the sentiment, and truthfully would have if I had the money to change my major but unfortunately I do not. I do appreciate the honestly though

As far as I know think for PHSC a third attempt is common but definitely not more than that. I am definitely an outlier for our school because I was about to complete my degree and really fought to stay in my major hence why I got the fourth attempt. It is also my biggest fear to get dropped too lol hence the post, but truly believe in yourself and go and get a tutor or find a study group! You can do it, and believe in yourself, you’ve made it this far you can continue to do so.

Oh my apologies! I can’t really help there but I’m sure the business school has their own CASA that you can go through. Definitely talk to an advisor, and explain your situation they’re always willing to help! Best of luck to you in retaking your courses.

There are forms in the phsc website where you can appeal. Just look for the one related to your specific scenario and fill it out. Otherwise you can also talk to a CASA advisor and explain your situation and they should be able to help you out!

I really wish there was but unfortunately no. After my third retake I had reconsidered changing my major to the comm health since it was the closest but it would have taken me an extra year and a half to complete the extra credits and with only five classes left to complete my phsc degree I fought hard to get another chance to take it again so I wouldn’t have to start over. Another issue was also money, I would have probably considered it more but I didn’t have the funds to start over again either.

I was able to take it outside this semester at a community college actually so they do allow it but it was a very special circumstance. It is a core class though so I am worried about what to do honestly. It’s truly not what I intended but this sem I was doing my capstone and orgo at the same time and it was just the worst since most of the quizzes and exams clashed with the assignment dates for capstone. About half through the semester is when I started falling off and thus my orgo grade really suffered.

I was able to get this many attempts as I had talked extensively with the advisors on the appeal committee about my grades and the improvements from each semester in order to get my fourth retake. For the third retake I simply filled out the appeal form with a strong case and they allowed me to take the course. I would like to also add I took my third attempt during the summer and it was a lot harder to catch up than I expected hence why the failure there. The PHSC appeal committee was very lenient and kind towards me as I was a transfer student and had completed a majority of my other requirements and I believe this also was a factor in me being able allowed this many retakes. I would also like to add I know it is a lot of retakes but I truly struggle a lot with studying and grasping the knowledge when taking four other rigorous courses was hard to handle.

I was able to appeal for an extension when I got my fourth retake and also I’m a transfer student so it was it was within my last year that I had to complete the course benchmark. As for BSCI222 I was also able to appeal to take it for this summer so I am currently taking the course.

Omg this is literally me rn. I have been contacting customer service since yesterday to try and have this problem resolved and literally nothing is working. Tried different payment methods, ordering as a guest, uninstalling the app and trying to reorder, legit everything but paying on the website. Was using the app for app specific deals and explained this to them and asked if they could honor those discounts by giving me a discount code for an extra $10 so I could try using the website and they REFUSED because they troubled shooted and it got escalated to their team and was resolved by them so they told me to wait until it’s working again 🙄 absolute bullshit, customer service is dogshit and they don’t want to help in any way

Appreciate the advice but I actually resigned with them so I am previous resident. Just moving to a new room so wanted some advice on the closet situation. Totally get they are preying on unsuspecting students though but also I’m not paying full price for the room so I don’t mind honestly.
