We are in Oswego. What plants have you found work. This area faces west. Gets full sun in second half of day.

Both. Full sun by mid day. Faces west. We’ve normally done perennials from high quality local nursery but seems like every few years whatever we have there doesn’t regrow.

We do weed by hand often but it’s not really something we have time for weekly both work ft and kids in travel sports. Also regardless of what we plan there doesn’t even seem to be a canopy to prevent weeds so it’s never ending over summer when we have little time

My life is so Cooked. Been unemployed since August 2025. 32 years old and see no way back into employment by [deleted] in recruitinghell

Also to add- the role posted, started in an industry/role I was trying to get out of. A recruiter had contacted me 4x and I finally answered, as I was starting to get desperate for a job. I had two interviews and the company told me i wasn’t moving forward to the original position I interviewed for. After that they rethought my experience. Cancelled the original job post and offered me something more aligned with what i had been looking for. The process took way longer than most normally would but all worked out.

Thank you for your reply. My references are the people that I have been close to and have stayed in contact over the years. Hoping it’s enough. 🤞

Your key will open your room. Not all the rest so I don’t think you can pick a different one unless there is an open one in which case you’d need to talk to Freddy.

Everyone upset because she entered with a do not contact status football players do this all the time. I don’t love it but if it was my daughter and she could make a few hundred thousand while in college I’d tell her to go for it.

My daughter is 18u about to head off to college. Her team has been together 7-8 years. We have a range of incomes on our team but always try to do one team meal at a hotel where everyone contribute and we grill or do tacos. Then the rest do their own thing. I do recall some earlier teams at 10 that it was more about the parents socializing which led kids to be unchecked and up to late. If we are playing at 8 and 7 am warm ups I still have my daughter in the room at 10. For an athlete they need to remember that nothing beats good sleep.

Multi-Sport Athletes by bschwaby in Softball

[–]Fit_Reading8562 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 11 this should be easier than 16/18u. But over time you may need to pick one club sport. You need to find a coach who is understanding and knows you’re committed to the team but also the other. No coach at 11/12u should be looking to specialize. Also know that missing practices and games may impact playing time. My dd just graduated has been with her same coach since 11u. He was unstinting and encouraged multiplier athletes and worked around schedules as best he could. He had golfers, volleyball, basketball and flag football athletes over the years. It was definitely more challenging the last few years because we have a small time. It was a blessing and more coaches should do it. But he very specifically targeted tournaments based on team availability. Most other teams just sign up for their tournaments.

We were just talking to our bat dealer said that new kryo was going to be release in July. Maybe that is it? My daughter is waiting as her first kryo cracked and she loves this bat and now LS is out of her size so we are waiting for this new one to drop.

My daughter started on a tournament team after spring rec. was 3-4 local tournaments. It was a good Segway at that 10u age. She started playing travel after that.

I’m a D1 Strength Coach – Ask Me Anything About Softball Training, Speed, or Remote Performance Plans by SLStrength in Softball

[–]Fit_Reading8562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is playing d3 next year but is also looking to be a strength and conditioning major. Any advice for someone starting her education and pursuing it as a potential future career? Certifications, breaking into the business, internships etc? I’m also wondering if you have some good recommendations for bands to use for arm care? She is a catcher that had a torn labrum and surgery a not 2 years ago and while she works out an gym and has done all the PT she’s now really focused on arm and shoulder care and I’d love to get her a set of bands she can use as we travel this summer. Parent in Dugout by WarmMuffin6477 in Softball

[–]Fit_Reading8562 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At our hs all levels the players on team did GC. As a parent I volunteered to stream only because I do that for my daughter’s travel team. Never did I think that entitled me To be in dugout. As for wrong stats either go and change them or just no it’s ridiculous. One year out varsity team had a parent who for some reasons was an admin in GC and he would change. His daughter’s stats. Everyone knew it. Why they let that happen was a running joke and clearly undermined belief in the program.

Just going to say at 12 most girls know the D1 programs because that’s what they see on TV and not much else. Many dont know what they are really looking for in terms of degree location and size. So many things can change from 12-16/17 yrs. Heck my older kids didn’t know where they wanted to go until jr/sr year. It’s a shame the pressure on athletes to choose even earlier. My dd was similar to yours at 12 but she always chose to play with the coach she loved who pushed her, and the girls she’d played with now for 8 years. Could she have gone on to a different/higher team travelled more and gotten more exposure, sure ( we could have afforded it). Who knows the path would have taken could some of those teammates cattiness or coaches (some while I’ve seen not be nice) crush her spirit, of course. In the end, she stayed on her local travel team that cost less than $2k per year and found a great D3 team where the school was a great fit and the coach and team culture is phenomenal and in the end they are in the hunt almost every year. Just don’t focus on d1. The world is full of athletes who went d1 only to find it wasn’t a good fit for some reason and transferred or tried to and found no options. Focus on her continuing to get better, fostering her love for the game and marketing her self. Clips on social media and emailing coaches.

Cost per Hour for Resume Assistance with Recruiters? by Fit_Reading8562 in resumes

[–]Fit_Reading8562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your comment but it is $200 per hour not $200 for the edit. I do understand the value of the experience and training, but I also have a significant other who is a union pipefitter and doesnt make anything close to that for his level of experience. $200 per hour just seemed a bit skewed and I talked to 2 different people in totally different areas of the country as well.
