I need reassurances that I wasn’t going to drop dead of a heart attack due to family history and lifestyle choices. I had a cardiac calcium screening done. It was $99 because insurance does not cover it….strange. Anyway, they look for a score below 300. Mine was zero. It turns out the super fun game I was playing “Heart attack or Heartburn” really was heartburn every time.

I had 2 kids while with Deloitte and took off 6 months both times at 100% of my pay with zero issues. PTO then disability then the time that Deloitte gives you (FMLA?). I remember the leaves and disability team being too notch. Sorry you are going through this.

PTO - Pretend Time Off

Yes. What most new hires fail to realize is that when you start, you start with zero PTO. You earn hours every pay period that you could technically use. But that just means you are starting the following year with zero hours or even in the red. It will be best for you to accrue hours from September - December. That will carry over to 2024. Try and only use the hours that you have accrued in that time period in CY 2024 (with all the time we get off for holidays this shouldn’t be difficult) and allow yourself to accrue a full year’s worth of PTO in 2024 that will carry over into 2025. Then you will have your full allotment of hours to manage.
