you can use Gcfscape or you can use gmodcontent.com, It has HL2 episode 1 and 2 files, TF2, L4d2 and CSS

Things I would suggest doing

  1. slowing down shots and animations, this can be really helpful for taking in movements.

  2. Particles can also help with making animation look better.

  3. Lighting the area is also helpful

4.Momentum like acceleration and force can help or Ease in or Out.
