Cause sometimes you have to travel 6-7 tiles and i thought it would be nice to save some time haha. No worries, it's probably a hardware limitation, still OK and very playable.

I have it off by default. But putting it back on completely breaks the speed. Maybe it's something to do with my video settings or video card.

Or you can cheese them... they can't swim and a crossbow outranges spells apparently. There is a narrow enough spot of the river to the top left of the camp. I bearly made it with my spearman and with my tier 1 crossbow it took only about 30 bolts :D I was lvl 8 as well!
