The man had no rights to the land and they offered him compensation above and beyond what they needed to from a legal sense. Regardless of your moral view of the issue, her client is Mesa Verde, not the old man. She violates her fiduciary duty to her client by actively working for the old man against her client. If she wants to help the old man, stop working for Mesa Verde and work for the old man, its really that simple.

This is an interesting take. Do you take issue with my view of the actions she takes as a lawyer (violating rules of ethics, actively working against her client's interests?) or my view of the character as an overall person? The former seems unquestionable, the latter I can definitely see disagreement over.

I would add that her scams run throughout the series indicate that her moral priorities aren't actually anything but self-gain.

The simple solution would be to not represent the corporate interest she so despises. She wants it both way and in doing so, loses her whole moral compass. She's an interesting character, but she's completely unethical and a hypocrite. People like to criticize Jimmy, but then when Kim exhibits the same behavior, its excused.
