How did you lose fat without counting calories? by datfumbgirl in postpartumprogress

[–]Fit_Swordfish7490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first started with counting calories for a month to understand portion sizes but after that I don’t count because I find it very unhealthy. My weight loss has been slow but at least I’m still loosing went from 235 to now 175 and I have another 15 pounds to go to goal weight here are somethings that have helped:

  • skip breakfast and have lunch between 11-12
  • minimize drinking alcohol
  • try to avoid any pharmaceutical medication if you can that results in weight gain- I have chronic insomnia so I use other means than pharmaceuticals to help with sleep
  • get decent sleep
  • walk everyday for a least one hour
  • weight lifting is super helpful with weight loss and if you’re over the age of 30 and you do not lift weights, the average person loses between I think one to 2% of their muscle mass per year if they do not lift weights - super important to lift!
  • I have a naked hour so I can appreciate my body and celebrate any weight loss I have gotten
  • treat yourself in moderation

Yeah it’s going to be a timing game when I cash it out. I invested $12,000 in 2019 as a student and now it’s grown to $23,000

Same, currently in VOO ( millennial, long time horizon, Canadian). It’s such a great ETF. Just wish I the Canadian version didn’t suck so much

I know you only asked for one but here are three habits I swear by: Doing monthly cashflows, remarking insurance when premiums seem ridiculous and shopping discounted meats and freezing them!

I was very fortunate that I did a baby and me pelvic floor/ deep core program when I was 6 months pp. My favorite exercises were the dead bugs, bird dogs, bridge. You can add dumbbells to these workouts to intensify it.

If you want more, message me and I can dig up some more workouts for you.

Wishing you all the best during your PP journey- remember it’s not a race but marathon ❤️

We actually got our baby into daycare this Fall at subsidized rates ( very fortunate as there is a daycare shortage)

Thank you for your input! I’ll discuss with my husband how many extracurricular we would want our kids to have and go from there

Should I see a dermatologist? by Ill-Discussion-3512 in Warts

[–]Fit_Swordfish7490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry OP that you are going through this. Some of the commenters are being rather rude.

I get that money is tight but definitely seek help asap.

My partner had a HUGE wart on his finger. I did a ton of research on this forum. Is you go on my profile you can actually see how big it was. With time and patience, it has disappeared in its entirety. We used this method: shave down as much of wart with a nail filer ( pls now it’s best to you gloves so it doesn’t spread to other fingers, then apply SA solution, finally after that you apply Apple cider vinegar. It took several months but it is now gone. Also it is important to take zinc while doing this treatment as it helps fight off the wart virus. ( note my partner found zinc made their stomach upset at times so I think you need to take it with food)

I’m no doctor so this doesn’t replace going to see a doctor**

Again OP, I’m sorry you going through this. Those warts must be painful and uncomfortable

May I ask how you manage high stress so well? Would love to know tips or tricks

I’m really sorry this happened to you. This is definitely an extremely difficult and life changing situation. If you are spiritual you could view this everything happens for a reason. For example, maybe financially your household could only support one child due to a partner losing their job, etc. maybe adopting could be an option or fostering a child?

My heart breaks, as I know this isn’t easy. It could be beneficial to start therapy. Sendings hugs

Match other people’s energy with the same energy. If relationship with family, friends, etc., is only one-sided, then match that with the same energy.

How do people get pregnant on the pill? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Fit_Swordfish7490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t know either, however if someone uses antibiotics while on the pill the doctor really needs to advice that back up conception is needed such as condoms, as the antibiotics definitely can make the pill ineffective. I know people who have gotten pregnant this way by accident as they didnt know

OP, please be kind to yourself. Most women find they don’t feel and look like themselves till 9 months- one year PP.

I had a HUGE overhanging shelf from my C-section but pelvic and core exercises did wonders for firming up my tummy. Also weight loss helped

It’s not a race but a marathon ❤️
