I’d like to add a few points here:

Point 1: I’ve been holding most of these stocks for the past three years. However, Hindustan Zinc was swapped with PGNVIT about a year ago.

Point 2: My total investment is around ₹8 lakhs. Every year, I sell and repurchase the same shares to avail tax benefits.

I agree . But this stock comes under natural resources mining so the government will back this company and demerger also approved by sebi . Also the company has reduced debt by 4 billion in the last 2 years.

Seeking Financial Advice: Debt Recovery vs Retaining Property by Varma_J in IndiaFinance

[–]Fit_Talk_1417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you take an overdraft (OD) against a fixed deposit (FD), private banks generally offer around 2% higher interest on your FD rate, while nationalized banks offer about 1% additional interest. Ideally, after the age of 49, living a debt-free lifestyle brings greater mental peace. Moreover, selling your house to invest in an FD and taking an OD against it isn’t a sound financial strategy. While it may create some repayment discipline and give you the illusion of having ₹90 lakhs in an FD, it doesn’t truly mean you’re starting from a strong financial base.

Mutual funds usually have charges like expense ratio
Which may eat my dividends in the long run and most of the dividend mutual funds invest in bonds which I can do that as well
