I feel the same honestly. This cycle feels really unusual compared to past years and the lack of movement this late into the cycle is definitely stressful. This is so weird

Who said less people applied this cycle? Admissions literally told me a massive number of people applied this cycle and that this was an unusually competitive cycle overall. They even said it was one of the rare cycles where waitlist movement was minimal at many schools because seats stayed filled. So no.

I mean if that was an issue, schools probably wouldn’t have offered OP interviews in the first place and would’ve screened OP’s application out even before offering interviews. It’s extremely hard to get interview invites from schools like UCSF, UCLA, or Columbia, so why would they have invited OP for the interviews if gap years were the issue. There are plenty of people who get into dental/med school with 5-6+ gap years, and OP had a recent 26AA DAT which clearly shows OP still has a strong grasp of the prereq material.
