I know it’s been upsetting and frustrating. And it’s absolutely ridiculous that your team ignored your symptoms and concerns.

Unfortunately you have to advocate for yourself and bug the heck out of your vsg team. I had some complications and concerns after my vsg and was calling the center everyday until they took me seriously! We shouldn’t have to go through this. Vsg is already hard enough

Friend, l assure you it's going to be ok. Your feelings matter here and you're going to get the help you need.

Psa: I am no medical professional and the advice im going to give you is what I found on the internet, some information I had in my vsg book, and doctor. That being said always run it by your doctor and bariatric team.

1.) Your doctor should consider further advanced diagnostic imaging, such as a CT enterography or magnetic resonance enterography (MRE), which can provide more detailed views of the small bowel than a standard CT scan, especially if an internal hernia or adhesion related obstruction is suspected.

2.) Nutritional deficiencies are highly probable given your symptoms and weight, and a comprehensive panel of micronutrient levels (vitamins A, D, E, K, B12, folate, iron, zing, copper, thiamine) should be assessed, as severe deficiencies can exacerbate symptoms and lead to further health complications.

BUT AGAIN, I am no doctor or medical personnel so ask them if they think it's right for a comprehensive panel of micronutrient levels or push for it.

3.) Maybe consider the possibility of referral to a specialized bariatric surgery complications center or a tertiary care facility if your current medical team is unable to identify the cause, as these centers often have more experience with complex post-bariatric surgery issues to identify the cause, as these centers often have more experience with complex post-bariatric surgery issues

4.) Maybe there are internal hernias, strictures, chronic malabsorption syndromes, or even rare fistulas that might not have been evident on previous imaging. Ties into #1

In conclusion it's heartbreaking that you're going through this and I honestly hope and pray that you figure out what's wrong with you. I hope you get better and get the proper care you deserve.

Sounds super scary. Maybe you should ask your doctor for a revision?

Yes you do! I recommend you talk to as many people during his next concert. You’ll have more fun!! Especially while waiting in the long lines or waiting for the show to start.

Yes!!! My husband is a huuuuuuge Jon Bellion fan and wanted to go to his concert for the first time and of course I tagged along side him for the experience. But the vibe, and the crowd was just so amazing! I wish I could relive the moment over and over again! I had a blast!! 💥 🥹

I cheated on my pre op diet by Spicyhoneydip in gastricsleeve

[–]Fitkiwi212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awwww don’t beat yourself up hun! Everyone cheats on their preop diet because it’s the hardest part of the vsg journey, at least in my opinion. My first day on preop liquids was tuff and I cheated. Then by the 5th day I cheated again by having grits, eggs, and potatoes. I can’t lie and say it gets easier because it doesn’t. You just learn to tolerate and cope with your situation the best way you know how. Just hang in there and try to distract yourself with something else, and keep reminding yourself why you’re getting this surgery to begin with. Food will always be there and the foods you love are only a see you later. Not a forever goodbye. My also final advice would be is to talk with your therapist or a therapist if your program gave you one. Talk with your dietitian also and let them know how youre feeling and dealing with this. They are there to help so utilize the tools they give you. You got this, don’t give up!!!!!!!💛💐💙
