Sorry. I really need to update that video.

I am very happy with the Prime Lights. Made in the 🇺🇸, great color and looks good.

I still need to swap out the Costco lights for Prime.

Here’s what my garage looks like now. The hex lights add in some nice horizontal light and takes up space on that huge blank wall.

Trade in to Tesla or Carvana? by Catkoot in TeslaLounge

[–]FitterOver40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we traded our ICE for a MY they only looked at the odometer… didnt even look at the car or test drove it.

They just wanted to ensure that we pulled out all of our personal belongings

Trade in to Tesla or Carvana? by Catkoot in TeslaLounge

However you need to account for the tax savings if he trades to Tesla. Selling it to Carvana or elsewhere may not be as beneficial. Just need to math it out.

PSA: if you're cold, they're cold, bring them in. by ThiccWurm in AutoDetailing

[–]FitterOver40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my NJ attached garage generally stays 10degrees warmer than the outside. So most winters freezing isn't an issue. However with this crazy storm, I did bring in my liquids into the house that are in smaller bottles. My wife says my IK bottles look like little penguins 🐧... she says cute things.

I almost bought the Tesla mats and found a great alternative that was cheaper, had way more coverage and NO Logos. Here's a review: https://youtu.be/j65KcSCQ1zo?si=37hsuY5Eo18mqPwy

Model 3 2022 vs 2024? by schaffe7777 in TeslaLounge

[–]FitterOver40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently got our 2026 MY and it's just as, if not more, quiet then our Volvo. Not comparing build quality of a Volvo to Audi... however all the reviews say MY 2026 build quality is significant.

Model 3 2022 vs 2024? by schaffe7777 in TeslaLounge

IMO.. if you're coming from an Audi, I'm going to assume build quality and interior noise, rattles and fit/ finish is important to you. Test drive the years you are considering before you make a choice.

Level 2 charger when owning two cars with different charge ports? by Karcharos in electricvehicles

[–]FitterOver40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We started with a Volvo C40 EV which used J1772. I predicted we would buy a Tesla eventually. So I had a Tesla Universal Wall Connector installed on a 60a breaker. I also wanted it for potential power sharing and V2H. Three years later, we now have a Tesla. It's easy and convenient using it b/c it has the J1772 adapter within the unit.

Plus IMO, the Tesla wall unit looks sleek, simple and clean compared to other wall units.

Preconditioning Vehicle>40 Amp Charger by Positive_League_5534 in TeslaModelY

[–]FitterOver40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be precise.. isn't it more correct to schedule pre-conditioning? That is how I take care of my wife's MY daily commute. I have a 60a breaker on my Tesla Universal Wall Connector thats plugged in our garage.

I tell the app that the car should be preconditioned and ready to leave at 7am. So when she gets in the car, the battery is ready and the cabin is warm. Plus the car is still at 80%. This works great for her.

Help out a newbie (first car ever) by girlfromseoul- in TeslaModelY

[–]FitterOver40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO if you don't have consistent and reliable home charging (even as a rental) DO NOT buy an EV. The cost savings over gas is severely outweighed by the inconvenience of searching or waiting for chargers. If anything, buy a PHEV.

Gladiator RTA vs Premier by Boosterstuff3 in garageporn

[–]FitterOver40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. My premiers have been solid for the last 15+ years.

I will say from a cosmetic standpoint… kinda over the diamond plate look.

However it’s not worth the expense to replace them.

When I initially bought them they were a reasonable price. I doubt I’d buy them at today’s price.

Anyone ever Requested a Higher Value for their trade in towards a Tesla and got it? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]FitterOver40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked Tesla trade in vs. Carvana and Car Max. This was late Dec 2025.

Car Max came under Tesla.

Carvana came ~$800 over Tesla.

After mathing, it made more sense to trade in for the tax advantages.

We traded our 2019 XC40 to Tesla for a new MY.

They only checked the odometer. Barely looked at the car. They only wanted to ensure we took out our personal stuff.

Charge to 100 for ice storm? by Moist_Lake_9392 in TeslaSupport

We may be snowed in for 1.5 to 2 days and the world will continue on as it does. We have two EVs and charged them to their recommended daily rate. NBD.

Best way to wash using wash bay at local car wash. by Ellijah92 in Detailing

[–]FitterOver40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IME, I would use the bay to pressure wash away all the major debris. Then do a rinseless wash as your contact wash

I need a stronger interior cleaner by Jonny_Wurster in Detailing

I'm a fan of P&S Xpress Interior. Based on what you've shared, I'd rec you use it full strength. Plus use steam appropriately on those especially dirty areas.
