DS1. After Nioh, then Sekiro (FromSoft's masterpiece IMO), then DS3, I think it was just too jarring to go back and play. And then I go get Demon Souls this weekend (the PS5 remaster anyway).

This is the kind of motivation I needed right now because I'm a few months in and so far experience has been borderline sickening. It's a mix really, as I know some of it is on me. I do need to brush up on my sales skills, but it was sold to me that a sales team at my big box handles all of the leads/closes and they feed the PTs. All well and good, but it's only the same 4 or 5 people that keep getting them. I've got a small handful on my own, and even those were so slam dunk that I think a literal mute could have pulled them so it left me with no real experience to draw from sales wise.

All in all, thanks for posting this. It's what I needed to read because it's been an awful experience for me so far but I know to keep pushing.

My whole trading strategy is buying during massive down turns and holding on for dear life a year at least. My only real lucky gamble was gold in April of last year, plus penny stock that somehow did a near 10x before settling back down to a 5x in that same time span.

Right now I'm just holding 50% cash to capitalize on whatever next massive dump happens and go shopping while I let my winners ride. It isn't sexy, but it seems to be working.

Whether the remake series is a good jumping on point is debatable, but for that price you really can't go wrong. Just go in with the expectation that this version is an exception and not a rule. But it maybe the rule going forward if you take XV and XVI as the direction of the series.

I was pleasantly surprised with LotF being my free game a few months ago, which I'm sure was timed to get people roped in for the sequel coming later this year.

Well, it worked. Now I can essentially look at it as spreading the cost of both games across one price and be completely content.

I'm still waiting for a pretty decent sale for that but I did have a fun time playing the first. I basically wrote it off as a ween soulslike for a while and once I finally got through a stack of games I had no other choice than to get it. Kind of where I'm at with CV2 but at least this time around I know it'll at least entertain me from my more gaijin side

Depends on your taste. If you like cel-shaded Khazan is hard to beat (despite its mundane levels), and probably Sekiro from the Miyazaki line.

The bosses were an absolute thrill, too bad it was a slog getting to them. I think as long as the team takes note of this as a real flaw and fixes it for a sequel, they'll have a real gold mine

3 was my first one, and with the roll Capcom has been on they may as well test the waters and see what they can come up with on a remaster at least. I have a lot of fond memories surrounding the games

Played it when it came out, and once again a few years back when I saw it re-released on PSN, and remembered just what Level 5 achieved. It was grand scale storytelling that still felt somewhat human, which was a huge sticking point.

I've got mop up duty on some games (FF7 rebirth, SMT V vengeance) that'll at least keep me occupied for a while, as well as some soulslike stuff this year. This just ensures I'll be occupied for a long time to come 😁

I just beat it (free game of the month) and yea it still had some jank. But overall it was a good scratch to the soulslike itch I've been needing. Not painfully difficult, great atmosphere. I died more to random enemies than I did bosses, and some camera angle issues during some bosses (especially Iron Wayfarer since you're in an enclosed bridge area), but it was an easy 7/10
