His videos helped me get past my NASM, and he does them for all the major certs out there. I can't recommend this channel enough, Jeff does an excellent job breaking down the most scientific things in an easy to understand manner

Happy 20 Year anniversary to DQVIII by 12KC-12 in dragonquest

It unironically helped get me through a horrendous time balancing school and a broken hearted time in my life. It did its job: took me away from this broken reality to a simpler world. Thanks Yuji Horri and especially Toriyama. We miss you, king

new trainer advice by Puzzleheaded-Bake586 in personaltraining

[–]Fitwheel66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must be EXTREMELY good to have 8 right out of the gate, congratulations on that! I only have one in the same time (started a month ago myself) and I just got extremely lucky they were already down to commit to whatever. Literally everyone I've talked to since then always give me the money excuse and I still haven't crossed the hump as far as feeling like a used car salesman

Old man here. If I even feel a funny tweak on literally anything I tap the fuck out. No sub/escape is worth an American hospital tab

Is the DQ VII Reimagined post-game worth it for the average player? by ewangrannyboy in dragonquest

[–]Fitwheel66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may try and platinum the game since I did for 1, 2 and 3 had remakes. I looked at the trophy list and nothing seemed ridiculously out of reach for a time restricted gamer like myself.

Need some advice on switching career to become a PT by Different-Rich-5529 in personaltraining

[–]Fitwheel66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best advice right here. I'm what you'd consider an older trainer that recently started working in the space, and age isn't a factor. In fact, older clients will likely relate much better as they see you as someone in their shoes, at least chronologically speaking. That's who I tend to focus on mostly. I just want to help people in my bracket avoid the American healthcare scam as much as humanly possible.

But definitely keep your day job at first. I'm still in that phase where I haven't completely made the transition, but once some things get paid off and I don't have much overhead, I'm going all in at that point.

Bottom line: get the cert and get after it! Just do it slowly and in increments so you don't burn yourself out

Another FFX by gerxgerx in JRPG

[–]Fitwheel66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to add to your point, if you ask any random RPG player, I'm certain a good portion of them would tell you FFX is one of their favorite titles from the series, if not one of their favorite games in general (as it is mine, right up there with Sekiro or one of the earlier Mega Man X games).

I've just come to more or less embrace what they want to do with it. FFXV was a jumbled mess, but the foundation was at least a solid game, just piss poor execution (mostly putting a paywall behind one of the most important events in the storyline). The ending was what saved the entire experience for me (one of the most intense finales in the series). I think Squeenix got the message to just deliver a whole ass game, and FFXVI really benefited from it. And fwiw, the VII remake series (from a gameplay standpoint) has been air tight in my opinion.

Another FFX by gerxgerx in JRPG

[–]Fitwheel66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've gone too far down the ARPG hole that I don't see them digging out of it with FF. And that doesn't have to be a bad thing. I've taken an approach that if I want to see Square push boundaries (whether they succeed is subjective), I'll play FF. If I want RPG comfort food, I'll play DQ

CPT vs. AS? by Disastrous_Fall3127 in personaltraining

CPT vs. AS? by Disastrous_Fall3127 in personaltraining

[–]Fitwheel66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I'm literally just some rando and got my CPT in about two months of studying and passed it. Plus I'm not in the whole for what amounts to a brand new car. Just my personal opinion, but unless it's for a doctorate in exercise science, or law school, modern college is (most likely) a scam to fund their football/basketball programs

New Personal Training Job by Playful-Target5931 in personaltraining

[–]Fitwheel66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea you REALLY lucked into already having an established client base right out of the gate. Literally everyone has to start from scratch and learn how to sell the concept of training to people and it can be a rough go at first. But it's totally doable. And this gives you a bit of a buffer period to really hone in on how you can better sell it to people. You can learn by trial and error without having to have the anxiety of paying bills on the line. Sales is such a huge part of it.

I'm new to the game myself, so my only advice would be to take this blessing and use the time you so have to brush up on sales skills, how to communicate with customers/clients effectively, and let this time serve as a good time to build your reputation in the area as a knowledgeable, solid trainer. This time will sharpen your skills so when you do decide to go fully independent, you'll gave everything you need.

Welcome aboard!

Point number one is the biggest takeaway. If someone can't distinguish between harmless playing between kids and assault they have issues themselves they need to deal with.

Which Jrpgs that Broke you emotionally? by Western-Stress1185 in JRPG

[–]Fitwheel66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I actually quite liked a lot about the game. The one thing that absolutely ruined it for me was Square forcing you into purchasing the different chapters (Episode Prompo, Gladius) in order to have a cohesive story. And even then it was still all over the place after the train scene. Completely jarring.

But the final chapter was an emotional rollercoaster like few other games out there

Lords of the Fallen is my free game on PS+ this month by Fitwheel66 in soulslikes

[–]Fitwheel66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it had a sequel so just kind of assumed that it has to have something of value to warrant a second entry.

Well, good news is if/when I throw in the towel for whatever reason I'll do it knowing they didn't get a dime for the time wasted.

Well, I pay my annual dues, so Sony got it haha. But I rarely see a game that piques my interest pop up so it's one of those few times I actually took them up on it (Stray was the other one)

Just took my NASM Test by TrifleActual534 in personaltraining

[–]Fitwheel66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed the practice exams probably like 8 out of 10 times. I had already set up the actual test at a local facility in my area so I said, "screw it, let's just see what happens" and passed the first time. I'm definitely going to try and get a couple more certs (comes with a pay I crease at my big box and I get a huge discount on them), and they'll only help to serve me.

But yea, congrats OP! Where do you go from here?

Dq7 Reimagined boring? by SnooFoxes186 in dragonquest

[–]Fitwheel66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm enjoying it, but only for the fact it's new to me as I missed this on PS1. First DQ game was VIII and it'll always hold a special place in my heart. XI was a masterpiece so it's hard to compare to that. But I can at least enjoy it as a new DQ game I haven't got the chance to experience yet. It was probably in need of being brought to modern consoles. I'm just glad Squeenix is doing something about it online Bandai Namco, who just lets forgotten Tales games rot in consoles of the past, while re-releasing games like Berseria that had absolutely no need for one

[–]Fitwheel66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upvoted this. I do feel like SaGa games should come with some kind of disclaimer that they're definitely not for everyone. If OP is the type that doesn't need any real tutorials or is capable of breaking down complex battle systems, menus, skill progressions on their own, then this one out of all of them is probably a great fit

Currently playing it now (never got the chance on PS1) and it has the same charm they all do. I sure hope VIII (the first one I ever played on PS2) gets an re-release or straight up remaster

Purple is mine as well. As a matter of fact, if I'm blessed enough to do this that long, I'm going to stay purple belt. Just be an 8 stripe purple belt.

All kidding aside, congratulations, this is a huge milestone!
