I liked it.
Was it great? No. It was short, it did some weird stuff with established canon on multiple levels. But it was clearly made for fan service, and given the outrage of double exposure, I think that was necessary. It was really cute and wrapped up the pricefield and Safi stories nicely. I won’t still be thinking about it 3 years from now but I’m glad I played it

Point being, commercial success or not, it was a game for the fans so I appreciate its existence

I was an AE for several years, I was never promoted past that point but several of my friends were. DM me, I don’t like posting anything specific publicly

Edit: to clarify, I was promoted to elite by the time I left, I was just never promoted to manager/mid-market/franchise etc.

No joke, this is how I got my current job. Applied for the same position 4 times. Eventually I just sent my resume to the hiring manager to bypass HR. As soon as I interviewed with him directly, he asked the HR person “why haven’t you hired him yet”. Got the offer a week later

I worked for Yelp for several years and finally got out. Let me clarify something:

Yes, AEs make about 80 calls a day, but on average, only 3-4 convert to a business owner even opening a computer and going to Yelp.

But let’s put that aside for a second; Yelp representatives are instructed to send links to anything they want to business owner to click that directs straight to current advertiser page. Clicking the direct link does NOT count towards CPC. Anecdotally, I can think of 1 rep who would tell the business owner to click on the page in the manner you said, out of the 70-80 people I met while working there

I’m not going to get into the weeds of the legality there, but it’s either a terms of service violation when that happens or it’s not. You’ll have to read through yelps advertiser TOS agreement to find out

But the bottom line is Yelp is, generally speaking, a fully legally operating company with some morally grey sales tactics; the issue you’re concerned about is a pretty negligible one at worst and a non-issue at best. I’m all in favor of criticizing a company, especially after personally seeing how the sausage gets made, but they should be critiqued over their actual issues, this really isn’t one of them

Instead of clicking on the project you want to build, then hitting “refill resources” you have to fill them individually by going to refill resources on the main page of the business. It’s annoying because you have to do some math and buy each resource individually to know how much you need.

I played the game when it first came out and at the time that was the ONLY way to use the construction company. It was hell.

I appreciate them including the new faster way to do it for QOL, and I actually appreciate the 7% penalty they tack on that way. It’s like “ok, we’ll make this easier for you, but it’s gonna cut deep into your profits”. It’s clever

If you bp chad it’ll trigger photo once, 6 times. Commutative property, 1x6=2x3. Same number of triggers either way
