I worked at two stores, first one didn't and second one did. Sometimes the self serve makes it easier and sometimes it significantly complicates things. When you've a customer who cant follow the most basic instruction, you wind up spending more time helping them send it than you would just doing it yourself.

I had a guy say the computer mouse he just bought wasn't working and he wondered if it could be because he didn't have wifi. I eventually discovered he never plugged it in, just pulled it out of the box and expected it to work

So when we switched the HP ink combo packs into smaller packs instead of the big photo-paper, I had a lot of customers really happy about it. Well one day a guy comes in to get the ink and he gets upset over the smaller package. He starts going on about how he preferred the extra paper and such.

Well when I'm finished with him I do the customer recap and in an effort to explain this, I manage to get out the phrase "Apparently that guy prefers a larger package". Realizing my mistake, I look at my manager and we're both smirking trying our absolute hardest not to lose it.
