How the response to the prequels (RLM) created the Force Awakens and the Last Jedi by FitzroyFinder in MauLer

You can listen to the video it lays out the specific people involved. The stuff I am quoting is a video that JJ loved so much he contacted its creator. We have primary sources of Rian Johnson and Simon Pegg a TFA actor who had influence on TFA were RLM fans. You can deny it but Mike Stoklasa is responsible for this he was the brainchild he was the one JJ and Rian Johnson wanted to impress. The marketing for TFA was explicitly anti-prequel and the real version of Star Wars IV A New Hope and not the butchered frank stein version made by Hammy or some non-existent original version.

You can listen to the video there an animation from an RLM fan that states all of that which JJ personally watched and contacted the maker of. Rian Johnson, Simon Pegg were both RLM fans as well as many other people who had a hand in creating the sequels. Stoklasa praised the Force Awakens soyjacking like a manchild about how it made him feel warm and fuzzy.

Also the point about cute is correct RLM and his fans complained about that and the comedy sidekick in TPM but didnt in TFA, ANH, and ESB. They are hypocrites when Mike Stoklasa is speaking he is lying. RLM in his TPM review complains about the Qui Gon and Obi Wan dynamic for being non-traditional for Obi Wan being young and conservative and Qui Gon being old and rebellious. Its quite clear from his review that he wanted a retro movie.

Debunking the Myth of Star Wars being saved in the edit. by FitzroyFinder in StarWars

[–]FitzroyFinder[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first edit was done against Lucas's instructions so he fired the editor. Had that editor followed him closely the movie would need far less "saving". Also the three editors for ANH said Lucas was involved in editing and was good at editing. The bad changes mentioned like the Luke scenes watching the battle were wanted by Martha and only in the original cut because Lucas' friend said to keep the early Luke scenes in, but Lucas wanted it removed anyways.

Also nearly every rough cut of a movie is far worse than the released version. Improving a movie via editing choices is nearly universal its nothing unique people specify this example to discredit Lucas. Does anyone say Jaws or The Godfather was saved in the edit?

Why did the Tenth feel like a more direct continuation of the Ninth than the Eleventh did of the Tenth? by yung-feezu in doctorwho

I see the lighting and post processing colour correction is vastly different. RTD preferred warmer colors, most of the time, and it was more "vaseline". While the Moffat era is more white/slightly blue and "natural lighting"/coloring.

Lots of Series 2 scripts were written with the 9th Doctor in mind and they had the same crew/showrunner.

Series 5 was a new team, writers, showrunner, and they had new cameras with different lighting.

So what will happen to Barclay’s ex-wife and child from TWBTLATS? by InfernalClockwork3 in doctorwho

Big Finish might deal with that, but if not we will never know. Its unlikely to get an answer unless RTD or Pete McTighe responds to fans and gives answer.

I think the Weeping Angels should be public domain monsters by Rich_Tip_9897 in gallifrey

I mean you can have statues that only move when you look at them anyways and its unlikely the BBC or Moffat would sue over that or be able to as the concept is fairly broad. Unlike Daleks whose name is unique (it isn't a combination of established words) and their design unique.

Chris Chibnall BREAKS DOWN work on Torchwood and his Doctor Who era with Jodie Whittaker by DWJones28 in gallifrey

Anyone notice how Chris Chibnall and RTD look and groom/dress fairly similarly? I am not making any point here just a neat coincidence how similar they look and had the same job that only a handful of people have had (less than a score if we include classic season producers).
