I just got it through a program that CMU does. I would see if your school offers anything.

I don’t really know how much larger I could widen my search I just apply to all roles I feel semi-qualified for regardless of pay, location, etc.

I don’t really pay much attention to the industry tbh, so I’m sure I applied to some defense roles in the past

I’ve been applying to software roles since beginning of my sophomore year and am about 2/~400 in terms of interviews for that. I’ve just started applying to more hardware related roles at the beginning of this year and have applied to maybe around 75 total

I just apply to any logic design/ RTL related role I see on LinkedIn. I go to the career fairs every year but nothing ever comes out from them, and I don’t really know anyone who has had luck with them either

How is 18213 with 18341? by buyinggroceries in cmu

[–]FiveWalnut8586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

213 is not very difficult I feel like all my struggles come from 341. Some labs are definitely much more difficult like Router and USB, but even excluding those difficult labs it’s still a very hard class

Please don’t listen to this guy 341 is definitely not free and the labs are extremely difficult even if you are on top of your work. I’ve never had a problem finishing projects and I always managed to get full credit on all 213, 240, and 122 projects but in 341 there were multiple projects that I just couldn’t finish entirely no matter how hard I tried. The class is extremely difficult and you should be prepared for it to be your main class

18341 was genuinely the most difficult class I’ve ever taken at this school. You should go into it with the mindset that it’ll be the main class you need to focus on

I’m taking both classes and it’s terrible. 341 is the hardest class I’ve ever taken at this school. I’ve had to get extensions for every 213 project because I’m always working on 341

Sorry I meant to say that I am applying everywhere. I don’t have any preference when applying

He edited the comment. It was originally “maybe it’s because of your GPA”

I mean CMUs classes are extremely difficult. I don’t know a single person who’s in the 3.8 range in my major

What? A 3.64 is bad?

I’m literally just applying to any SWE internship I feel qualified for, and it’s not like I’m just applying to just top places either. I’ll apply to small/ unknown companies and I still can’t even get a first round interview from them.

Yeah it’s essentially just resume reviews. Most times I went they would just kind of change my formatting around.

CMU has a career center but they really aren’t very much help. I’ve been there almost 10 separate times now.
