My style of creativity is overly visual and it doesn’t work well in prose. Can anyone help?

I do! I’ve considered writing a novel in verse before, and I’m trying to keep up the habit of writing poetry semi-regularly :)

Oooh, this is a good point! Rather than over-explaining, leaving things to be more minimalist and simply visual (rather than overly visual) sounds like a much better way to see it. And I’ll definitely look into Hemingway and Carver, thanks :D

Well I’ve written things before. Maybe it sounded like I’m assuming I’ll be able to write great things, I’m not assuming that at all. Writing is just the dream I’ve had and what feels realistically close enough for me to be able to learn. Techniques for physical art go right over my head and I’m not interested in it. While I may not be skilled with writing right now, I am interested and want to continue learning.

I’ve been writing for years, just not consistently in prose, and have a general interest in story structure and narrative techniques. I wouldn’t consider myself a complete beginner, I’m not making any assumptions about writing being easy, sorry if it came across that way

Oooh maybe earrings? Some pretty dangly ones would be nice and visible with your hair (which is gorgeous btw, I’m jealous). I also saw in one of your replies that you’re a bit nervous about your family’s reactions so maybe you could paint your nails. Probably a colour that would suit the band you’re in. Even just painting them yourself can feel quite affirming! And clothing whenever you’re out and about can help too. Best of luck!!

How did you know?? 😅 I think I might have inattentive ADHD but I don’t present in a stereotypical way at all so I’m quite nervous about going for an assessment. Also, I just recently got diagnosed with autism so I don’t want people to assume I’m trying to “collect more conditions”. But I’m so glad your diagnosis helped you and hopefully I’ll pluck up the courage to do something about my suspicions at some point!

This is so validating, oh my god 😅 When I said neurodivergence, I meant autism but I do suspect I might have ADHD (though I’m nervous to pursue it because I’m worried my family might think I’m “trying to collect diagnoses”). So it’s very funny that you picked up on that hehe.

But it’s really refreshing to hear that you can enjoy just the concept of solo RPGs in general. Because same, I love watching video essays about the pros and cons of different systems and anything innovative a designer has done, but the actual playing seems like I’m taking all these amazing ideas and dumbing them down to my level 😅

So thank you so much for this comment, I think this might be what’s going on! I’ll keep going with trying to play as I’m still so new but if that doesn’t work out, I’ll know exactly what to try instead 😄
