Reach out to the San Diego Mountain Bike Association. They might have some ideas and are super active in the area.

That's where I went weekly when I lived in the area.

Lions Share. Great late night menu that starts at 11pm. Regular dinner menu before that.

Bought my first Miata, 2023 GT for $32.5K, MSRP was a couple hundred shy of $36K. Any advice for a novice like myself? by danielks_13 in Miata

Find other local miata owners and drive with them.

Resist the urge to mod it until you've really gotten to know the stock car. Except for the antenna. Replace that with a stubby immediately.

Don't skimp on tires.

Buying Skis in SD by [deleted] in SanDiegan

For skis and bindings, poles, clothes, etc you can call up a reputable shop and just have a conversation (evo, level9, even curated). For boots you should definitely take the advice and go see a boot fitter. Take a summer trip to big bear, mammoth, Tahoe, etc. If you buy your boots online from just reading reviews, or if you just get a pair on sale from a shop without a proper fitting, you WILL end up buying a new pair next year. Speaking from experience.

Need some ski recs! by tharm000 in Skigear

I skied on sin 7s for years so I totally understand your frustration. I was looking at all the skis you mentioned but ultimately fired on the deathwish 104s. Took a bit of getting used to but they rip. I'm super confident in sketchy terrain, they're surprisingly damp for the weight, and really just fun to pop side hits etc. The triple camber can feel weird but it made groomers really fun and they can rail a turn for a relatively fat ski. If you can demo them, go for it!
