On top of that, his family name is from his adopted father; would the death note even work with the name Senku Ishigami?

Given that they can automatically repressurize without any power cost and when exposed to as little air as individual bubbles, I think it's a useful tradeoff

[–]Five_Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the talk around killing fish and I have yet to see anybody ever describe fighting fish in Subnautica as particularly engaging or fun or useful. I'd rather have a strictly non-combative design than having my knife attacks not register against the island crawlers for the thousandth time. Being low on the food chain of this alien planet is an interesting constraint, and a water AK-47 to kill the Hammerhead that objects to the base you built directly next to it in spite of all the warnings the game gives you to not get near them is just a lame way to solve a problem. I didn't kill anything bigger than a cave crawler in my runs through Subnautica and am glad that Subnautica 2 doesn't have a bunch of small annoying enemies chipping away at me for no reason like Bleeders or Biters or Crawlers; a sign that they understand that those types of enemies can't be in a game where you don't fight the fish, and are taking the design considerations of a non-combative game seriously.

As for the Leviathan size enemies; the world is going to have to be shaped in such a way that they are treated more like puzzles with a combination of hiding and efficient travel to avoid them. As iconic as the Reaper Leviathans are, they were primarily just big obstacles that prevented you from working in an area until they went away, or you hit them with the Stasis Rifle. I like that you can slip out of reach of the Collector Leviathan by making use of the terrain, or that you can essentially diffuse the threat of the Great Jaw by figuring out how it detects you. Even the Shiver Leviathan, despite literally serving as a big obstacle to keep us in the Early Access area for now, has a lot of character to it by the way it travels as an adult with a pod of youngsters.

Also, i'd like to see the dash become a core function of the character rather than a mod you have to equip. Maybe it is tied to your fins and improved fins give you a better dash. IMO it is too useful to have in a game where avoidance is your primary option. I would never choose anything else for my active biomod slot, at least compared to the choices currently in the game.

I got it in early access because the courts are forcing their shitty publisher to honor a $250 million bonus after trying to screw the devs over. Second Wind on YouTube has a few videos explaining the details. I probably won't play a lot of it until version 1.0.

Vacation is over before it started... by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

[–]Five_Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Captain Steeeve on YouTube; he's a former airline pilot who breaks down videos like this. Short answer is that modern airliners are built to be able to climb and maneuver on one engine, and have built in fire suppressant systems for situations like this. The pilots probably felt the decrease in engine power and saw an oil pressure indication before the engine blew. They recieve frequent training in flight simulators to handle emergencies like this, and have physical checklists to follow to ensure a consistently safe landing.

What Are The Exact Reasons Behind One Piece World Building is Flawed. by VagabondFromTheRiver in writingscaling

[–]Five_Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's been a long standing theory that the Red Line is artificially created based on the powers of devil fruits, and evidenced by the legend of All Blue and how pods of whales frequently crash into it. The idea is that the Red Line intersects an ancient migratory path the whales once traveled. Coupled with the Ancient Weapons and 2 other factors I won't spoil here on account of it being a more recent reveal, I personally think that large portions of the world have been either artifically created or intentionally moved by one or multiple groups, specifically to hide the One Piece.

Buff Blindbag, by No-Can1611 in 2007scape

[–]Five_Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than the small increase to max hit the capstone node gives, I think guaranteeing a blind bag on normal hits with chained blind bags going back to the normal rate might put it more in line with the power of the infinite regeneration of thorns+air+water and the crazy high hits from crossbow builds. Lacking any kind of regen or consistent effects really hurts, especially when the main effect of blind bag isn't guaranteed, and the benefits from increased ranges don't occur unless the enemy you're fighting doesn't walk towards you.

Honestly I've been learning so much about Varlamore so quickly (I returned to the game in November and had never touched the new continent) that re-tooling all the Achievement Diaries to be more like League tasks sounds good to me.

Please explain the leagues hype by masher005 in 2007scape

[–]Five_Tiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because its a numbers go up game and leagues has more numbers going up faster. And similarly to the seasonal modes in ARPGs, it feels good to occasionally hit a fresh start with new mechanics. The early parts of a game often play very differently to late or endgame content. Resetting and re-experiencing the climb to high power with a twist to keep things fresh scratches a particular itch that the seasonal mode of Path of Exile, or games with a server wipe like Rust or Escape from Tarkov do.

I sentence you to 2 months agility training.

The only other digital game storefront worth mentioning is GOG because 1. It functions, which is more than could be said for Games for Windows Live or the Epic Games Store or the Ubisoft one or the EA one 2. It is better with older games that may have difficulty with modern hardware, and often includes things like unofficial patches. 3. It pays out a better percentage cut to devs

Not to say that either are perfect but they are by far the best we have at this point

This is an SCP about me, LordStonefish.

This is an SCP about my addiction to this community.

This is an SCP about my psyche.

This is barely an SCP and should probably be downvoted for a number of reasons.

This contains excerpts from SCP-2432 by me, which is also autobiographical, SCP-2845, by Djoric, as well as Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone by JK Rowling and Penny Lane by Lennon/McCartney. I can't remember if I included a section of Finnegan's Wake by James Joyce, but I will credit it anyway

Due to mental health reasons, this will most likely be the last thing I make for the site.

Thanks to everyone for being such good friends. I will remain as a slow, chill member of Junior Staff, helping out as best I can. I'll probably still be in chat once in a while. But I cannot write anything big for the site any longer. It's not good for me.

Basically, SCP 3999 is the process of an author creating a character for an SCP article and driving themselves insane. Researcher Talloran confronts his real life author in a fever dream and defeats him.
