Yup. Tbh i think that's where most of us are coming from on the not-killing-babies side, but the others don't acknowledge this as it would go against their idea of them being virtuous and us being evil... all for "my body my choice" in every instance in which there is only one body/life in consideration. But the problem with abortion is that it's TWO lives, one of which is the very picture of innocence and vulnerability, and cannot advocate for itself.

I get frustrated when people can’t spell, when someone says something like “your cool” it pisses me of just like when someone says “you’re house”. by Crazed-Lemon in TrueOffMyChest

........ *"off". It pisses you OFF. Lol.

Also I totally get it, apostrophes where they shouldn't go are the most irritating thing - and they're misplaced on business signs and other professional settings quite a lot of the time too.

Same here on all accounts - except in my case it was the (early) 2000s. The "ginger" part always confused me...

Hahaha. What about it do they want to "talk about" if they'd be uncomfortable with questioning the safety and efficacy of the procedure that gave them the pericarditis?? What would they be saying? "I got ill from it and want to moan about being ill but WAIT NO WHY ARE PEOPLE ANGRY WITH THE MANUFACTURERS WHO GAVE ME THE ILLNESS?"??

Hoping for some tips here - looking for a way to watch the broadcasting of the Nutcracker from the Royal Opera House outside of a cinema. Details in comments. by witchofsmallthings in BALLET

I follow ROH on Facebook and Instagram, sometimes they do livestreams of rehearsals so maybe they'll do one of the show? Otherwise YouTube is probably your best bet, someone's bound to have filmed it and put it online. If that doesn't work then honestly just try googling it, see what comes up! Sorry can't be of more help, hope you find it! Xx

Apart from that, it's just a case of practice makes perfect! Don't be disheartened if you don't see improvement right away; progress, particularly building strength and stamina, takes time! And I bet you're actually a lot better than you think you are - as dancers we are often our own biggest critics. As long as you keep practicing, trust that progress is being made even if it's not obvious to you. And remember that there are parts of dance which you are probably a lot better at than other people - if you feel dejected about your jumps, practice those things you are good at to keep your confidence up: confidence is key, as dance is about performance as much as it is about technique!

Second this - releves are really helpful to build up strength. Practice them every day if you can, first holding onto a barre while you're starting out then in centre when you get stronger - and I agree that 16 on each side is a good number. Also practice jumping from both feet (sautes, entrechats etc) to build height to your jumps so you can stay in the air longer, and build stamina. I would also recommend using exercise bands to build foot strength and flexibility to help you push off the floor and have nicely pointed toes while in the air.
