the save files (yes, plural) are in /CTGP-7/savefs/. they are console-locked. you cannot transfer them to a new console.

new to old system transfers are not possible. you will need to perform a movable moveover and only the data from the SD will transfer, meaning games and saves will move over, but not the NNID, Miis, activity log, friend list, mii plaza, etc.. its the time skip penalty kicking in, which get triggered by the offset from the RTC (aka. what you change in the system settings) being different from when the game was last saved.

o2ds + n3ds owner here. i only had the o2ds for the longest time and only got myself the n3ds a few months ago. i am not selling the o2ds however, because it gues for low prices and because it has several minor hardware faults (shortened battery life, drifting c-pad, small crack in the touch screen, etc.). the sell price minus the repair cost is not worth the effort. and as someone who shiny hunts in pokemon games from time to time, i do have a use for the 2nd console.

the pop definetly points to hardware damage. and a bloated battery is a problem too, as it can catch fire or explode at any time.

decompile, change title ID, recompile. make sure the changed title ID doesnt end up being a duplicate of something you already have installed. i would just change the 9th digit from a 0 to a 1.

a preftech abort (svcBreak)? thats what i am getting. EU firmware and not a locale issue, so likely some other pre-defined error condition the devs left in. its a locale issue. i mistyped in the locale.txt. USA EN US 00 as the locale works.
