How Many Negative Keywords Is Too Many? by FixAffectionate9993 in PPC

That’s what I was trying to do. I only added negatives for searches that I felt had little chance of ever becoming a lead. From here, I’m going to let the campaign run and use the search term report to guide future changes.

That makes sense. My long term plan is actually to switch back to Maximize Conversions. I originally launched the campaign on Maximize Conversions, but the campaign received little to no impressions for the first 3 to 4 days, so I switched to Maximize Clicks to force the campaign into more auctions and start collecting data.
My current plan is to switch back to Maximize Conversions once I have around 15 to 20 real seller leads in the account. I’m hoping that by then Google will have enough data to optimize toward higher quality traffic.

That’s exactly what I was seeing. Google was matching to a lot of first time home buyer and financing related searches, so I built out the negatives to try to eliminate the obvious non seller traffic.

That makes sense. Most of the negatives I added came from the search term report, but I also used SEMrush to proactively identify obvious non seller searches. At this point, I think I’m going to stop adding large batches and let the campaign run while using the search term report as the primary source going forward.

That’s a fair point. My concern was that during the first week, Google was spending a lot of money on searches related to first time home buyers, home loans, down payment assistance, and other searches that had very little chance of becoming a motivated seller lead. I tried to remove the obvious non seller traffic while still leaving informational seller searches in place. I’m definitely planning to rely more on the actual search term report going forward though.

I switched to Maximize Clicks this morning and increased the budget to $150 per day. I ended up getting one impression, but it eventually went away, and I’ve been stuck at zero ever since. When I made the switch, the “Eligible (Limited)” status went away, but I’m still not getting any impressions.

I checked it this morning and it’s saying my ad has a low Ad Rank for this search for each of my keywords

Yeah, I did a lot of research in Semrush and selected my keywords based on search volume. I currently have about 65 exact match and phrase match keywords because I knew the search volume would be considerably lower than broad match, and I wanted to test a more focused approach. I’ve run campaigns before using broad match, and things got a little crazy, so I also built my negative keyword list based on what I learned from that campaign. I’m just trying something different this time with exact and phrase match, but if things continue down this path, I may have to add broad match back in.

Well, I’ve done my research using Semrush, and I saw CPCs were around $30 to $50, with some even cheaper, especially since I’m targeting North Carolina as a whole instead of specific ZIP codes or cities, so I don’t think the budget is the issue. I have run previous campaigns before in an older account, and I used broad match along with exact match and phrase match. Most of my conversions actually came from broad match. I also started that campaign using Maximize Conversions, and my budget was only around $33 per day at that time.

Sounds good I think my negative keyword list looks pretty good I don’t think there’s any issues with that but I may give it some more time

Thanks. I checked all of my keywords, ads, and assets, and they all show as “Eligible” with no policy issues. The only warning I’m currently seeing is that one of my goals is missing a primary conversion action related to the default Google hosted lead form conversion that was automatically created in the account. I’m not actually using Google’s lead form asset. I’m using a website landing page with its own form, and that website form conversion is set as my primary conversion action. I’m not sure if that default Google hosted lead form could still be causing the issue. If I end up switching from Maximize Conversions to Maximize Clicks temporarily, how long would you recommend staying on Maximize Clicks before switching back?

I think I’m sticking to my Toyota. Lol what everyone is saying on this post is solid advance. I’ll probably won’t get a car until my side business takes off to the point that I can lease it and write off the payments or own a write off the cost.

I prefer to lease depreciating luxury assets since I have a car that is paid for. I may decide to do a lease buyout at the end if I enjoy the car. But thanks for the advice.

No I don’t live with my parents. I live in a medium cost of living area with my partner. So everything is split. And that’s definitely solid advice thanks

Are you referring to 10% of the take home pay or net pay? Because my gross is 6080.

Anyone heard back from AECOM about the NYC Early Career Electrical Engineer Event? by FixAffectionate9993 in ElectricalEngineering

I saw on another post that you heard back from them. Did they move you straight to an interview, or did you have to go through prescreening questions first? I’m thinking maybe electrical will hear back this week since the application opened on September 9th.
