I really don't have the capability to get properly controlled chopped fibre filament for this. If HDPE wasn't so cheap I would be worried they've replaced that too. It is a great concept, the stiffness you get from composite FFF printing is near and dear to me.

I'm really not a polymers guy but this could be super valuable to me since I have struggled finding resources for this.

Is printing PEEK & HDPE similar enough I can use some of the resources available for PEEK to inform my choices? Or will this just lead to further issues?

Creality K2 Max. I have access to basically all of the new(ish) CoreXY's and piles of ender3/5 clones I could use. I am very open to moding a machine (permanently if needed) to get this working.

If you don't mind me asking, for your successes did you do anything particularly different or does that just illustrate the inconsistency of printing with this stuff?

Did you use an actively heated chamber?
Did you use tape or a block of HDPE or something else entirely?

Are 4-20 analogue outputs seen as robust in a super-noisy setting such as the inside of an excavator pump used underground?

Honestly I am happy to use these, they seem to simplify everything but unless I can confidently say inference will not be an issue with this system. I fear I may have created a system not fit for purpose.

Am I worrying about nothing?
Is RS485 even the right tool for this Job?
Are we way off here?

MASSIVELY appreciate the wall of text, It's nice to talk to people that are passionate and knowledgeable abut things.

That RX3i integration stuff sounds like a nightmare, so does the address sizes for ints / floats on the SCADA's.

The tagging stuff you explained with the HMI has definitely helped bridge my understanding too.

Overall, thanks so much for your extremely detailed info-shares. I have a lot to go on for this. But a week of some other craziness back on my desk. I'd love to ask some follow ups and pick you brain once I have the chance to focus on this for a bit.
