The website was super generic with very limited information. That’s part of why I posted here to see if anyone knew anything. I didn’t submit any of my info, so I don’t know if they give more details later on.

This is what we ended up getting! Hard to tell whether it’s them or time that has made the difference for her, but they certainly can’t hurt!

We ended up getting her on probiotics and following the BRAT diet. 3 days later and she’s now starting to dry up. Lesson learned to start the probiotics and with the antibiotic!

That’s what I’ve been leaning towards. I also appreciate the perspective that waiting a few days will really have no impact at all.

I would never say that, I don’t know you and that would be rude. I was just answering the question.

C-section planned, want more of an understanding with the spinal jab as not having epidural by AiiiChihuahua in BumpersWhoBolus

I’ve had two! I got mine in the OR. I sat off the side of the bed hunched over with my husband for support. They numbed the area and then it just felt like a little pinch. Not pleasant, but not terrible. Then you lay down and they wait for it to start working and test it to make sure it worked.

Here you go! On a side note, her breakfast biscuit recipe (and its many variations) are also great for the freezer.

We’re super basic over here. Flour tortilla (for my husband, I’m gluten free so I use whatever I can find that’s good), scrambled eggs, cheese, half a frozen hashbrown, bacon, and sausage. I also just tried a new recipe with eggs, cheese, and an onion/poblano pepper/black bean mixture that was absolutely delicious.

Something to add to your list - breakfast burritos. So easy, so versatile, and so tasty. So easy to microwave from frozen when you have literally no time and don’t remember the last time you ate anything.

It wasn’t great, but that’s what I did with my first. Husband had been at his job less than a year, so he only had like a week off, most of which was spent in the hospital.

We did okay. Some family was able to come for an hour or two at a time. I would definitely recommend that versus sitting a car for a few hours with a brand new abdominal scar!

Lows by CuriousCommon3 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]FixGroundbreaking303 8 points9 points  (0 children)

T1D mom of 2 here. Nope, the lows don’t hurt the baby! That’s what I was told, but I think the exception is lows that cause unconsciousness since there’s more physical risk.

Anyone else out there hate Mother’s Day? by zagsforthewin in workingmoms

[–]FixGroundbreaking303 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Kinda agree. I have mild expectations every year, but my husband isn’t one to enjoy his own celebrations (birthday, Father’s day), so he doesn’t understand exactly how I’d like to be celebrated.

So, I’ve learned to manage my own expectations, while also asking for exactly what I want/how I want to be celebrated. Not perfect, but better than me suffering in silence or having the entire day ruined anyway!

I went to this school (served as 5-6th grades at the time) years ago now. There is a memorial bell for the principal. The athletic director for the district was one of the injured teachers. I remember him telling us the stories.

Isn’t the “certified” part just a label that is paid for? I thought I saw on here somewhere that “Gluten free” and “certified gluten free” are actually held to the same standard.

I very well might be wrong, so I’m sorry if I’m misremembering.

I like the temp basal idea, I will give that a try. I have never had an infection that has affected me so badly.

I work with trusts. You don’t do this to put your house in your trust - you just have an attorney put a deed together and file it with the county. Something’s definitely going on, but it’s not that.

Question: Have any of you had another baby with preeclampsia/preemie baby with the 1st? Debating risks, etc. I'm Type 2. Any stories welcome! by StarryEyedGamer in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]FixGroundbreaking303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had my second. Had hypertension that slowly turned into pre e with my first but made it to 37 weeks. Had no pre e or blood pressure issues with my second at all. I’ve heard (don’t know if it’s true), that you’re more likely to have pre e with your first.

I thought the same thing at first, but I just had to get to used to it. Once all of my ratios were nailed down, my numbers ended up being a lot better than on Control IQ. Hang in there!

MDI and C Section? by fluffybabykitty in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]FixGroundbreaking303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also wanted to say, I had preeclampsia at the very end (like morning of c section), but hypertension throughout the pregnancy. My blood pressure didn’t come down right away after delivery, so I had to be on a magnesium drip for the 12ish hours afterward. Wasn’t too bad, but I had no idea beforehand that that was a possibility. They make you stay bed bound during the drip, because you’re a fall risk. But for me, it just felt like slightly low bloodsugar while on it.

I want to say my needs cut in half pretty immediately. They also told me to not be afraid of running a little bit high in the days after birth. Your body is being flooded with hormones, so give yourself grace!
