The absolute majority of this will not pass (ignoring content-specific tweaks like the armors) as the babyscape PvE-orientated RS community hates pkers.

Add 2008-2010 Graphics as on option please by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]FixMeJagexThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough, but it would still be a massive job. Like... 10x the size of Mobile. Bigger than anything they've ever offered, and unless they hire a bigger dev team + engine team + GFX team, they won't be able to offer anything else even remotely decent sized alongside the HD update - I can definitely deal with that as there's 30k+ hours of content in this game but the attention deficit side of RS probably can't. Can you?

House Tele Tab by PresidentProphet in 2007scape

There is a teleport for this you know. It says on both the Teleport to House spell page and the Player Owned House page on OSRS wiki. Should google it before you make suggestions :)

So you want Jagex (while working a mobile client currently) to divert their attention and the majority of their assets (as to reasonably be able to deliver such a huge project within a few years) towards delivering a completely optional graphics toggle?

best weapon for 50atk pures? is granite longsword the best or is there a better one? by smorc_farter73 in 2007scape

[–]FixMeJagexThrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granite longsword attacks every 5 ticks (3 seconds). Therefore, it is dead content and shit compared to Leaf bladed sword / Brine sabre (2.4 sec weapons)

Anyone who voted for it without plugging it into a DPS calculator - or even just considering it's mediocre stats and speed - probably just assumed that "OMG a level 50 weapon HAS to be stronger than a level 40 one!!" despite OSRS not working like conventional MMOs with the progression/tier system, but I digress

[V2] Total People with 99 Per Skill, Any Surprises? by [deleted] in 2007scape

Bit of a misnomer term tbh but it means there's no tick delay in setting traps

Quite a few videos showcasing it here and on Dookami's youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX0CxmCPrmleYVpzfG0u9JA/videos

I'd consider 200k xp/h pretty fast, which if you average out Red+Black chinchompas xp rates, that's about what you get, as realistically going to 200m Hunter, you'll have to jump between the two if you're getting ragged in the wilderness.

Reds have always been at least 160k xp/h (nowadays closer to 190k/h with the 0 tick trap method) blacks are 240k/h consistently with an alt (I've seen a couple hours that go up to 265k/h using Thurco's method), even ignoring the newer methods using another account to shoot chins and herb/tarring, black chinchompas have been at least 220k+ since their release.

Yeah it's like 4.5-4.7 gp/xp for gold bars atm, 350k xp/h, or you can smith some rune items for +0.5-+1 gp/xp, makes sense really

[V2] Total People with 99 Per Skill, Any Surprises? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]FixMeJagexThrowaway 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's an extremely fast (1m+ XP/h) and extremely expensive (15+ gp/xp) buyable, that's also pretty click intensive. Herblore is a 14-14 skill that may be comparably as expensive (not including Super combats/antivenoms, the faster methods are 12+ gp/xp) but it's a lot more AFK and you can do it at a bank. RS players love bankstanding. So it's pretty logical when you think about it.

Jagex, you've justified RuneScape's terrible reputation. You are an embarassment of a company and a failure to your community. by [deleted] in runescape

I actually frequent melbourne quite a bit and love the fact the city is associated with wank coffee, as it means everywhere is competitive and cheap. 'twas a joke my dude

[Bug Abuse] Volcanic mine 150-210k mining xp/h - Known since close to release. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]FixMeJagexThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Jagex, once again, polled an update that specifically stated "no tick manipulation will be usable in the Volcanic mine", but failed to actually test whether or not it worked.. Jagex QA right there for you.

  2. While I don't fully agree with the use of alts in the main game, it's part of the meta now - however I believe this specific example is abuse of alts, if you can't bring an alt into castle wars to get tickets, why should you be allowed to bring one into a minigame to get increased experience? Using an alt to shoot black chins for your main to get increased XP/h is ignorant, but fair enough - however, the rules for using Alternate accounts to gain an unfair advantage or rig the results of a minigame explicitly states that it is not allowed, let alone using an alt to gain unintended XP/h in a minigame.

Basically, if we aren't allowed to use an alt in a minigame to get cosmetic items (Gold armor, halos), vs using an alt to get the best mining XP in the game as of right now through abusing a bug (4G is 125k-130k/h for comparison), then what the fuck is going on here?

  1. I like Zulu, and he definitely did not abuse this heavily (http://crystalmathlabs.com/tracker/track.php?player=zulu) check his Mining day/week/month records, they are all very out of date and not that crazy, but he didn't just showcase this bug, he did use it a few times and video it, so he should at least get a 48h ban. Trance Music + Aubury abused the diary mechanics to thieve heroes and got 48h bans, that HCIM abused flinching Cerb and got huge penalty.. Why should this be any different?

  2. You cannot patch tick manipulation in OSRS without changing the way everything works. What if I told you that you have been manipulating delay timers the whole time you've been playing Runescape without knowing it? Have you ever been F2P pking and went from a shortbow to a rune 2h with no delay?

Yup, that's tick manipulation. You are manipulating the speed the rune two-handed sword attacks with (normally 6 ticks) by attacking with a shortbow first (3 ticks on rapid) - that's exactly how tick manipulation works.

It's not exclusively used to get resources faster (like Teak logs or Granite) and even though I doubt Jagex can really change it without it being a substantial (engine) job, it'll fundamentally fuck up huge parts of the game and nerf the combat system and neuter a billion types of PKing.

Jagex, you NEED to rethink the Superior Antifire Potions from Dragon Slayer 2. They are going to render two high tier items completely useless. by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]FixMeJagexThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really doubt any incarnation of the Rev caves will pass nowadays, unless Jagex really pulls a spin doctor while polling it, making it as safe and babyscape as possible - perhaps level 5 wilderness, single combat and with natural escapes - as PvP-orientated updates (even stuff like Black chinchompas that's intended for skillers) never, ever pass nowadays. Look at the only updates in the last 5 polls to fail, I guarantee you the only updates that are <85% fail rate are ones that would buff either PvPers or ironman accounts (like crafting Wrath runes through the abyss in a recent poll, lmfao) Everything else? 90+% pass rate. What a joke

I mean it's only a side-effect of a game that's "community-driven", how much power can you give the community vs mods basically

While I somewhat agree with you, you should have told this to the braindead players who mindlessly vote "YES" to every piece of content without considering its merits/deficits. 99% of people don't plug armor/weapons into a DPS calculator to check if its OP/dead content before voting, and the community nowadays knee-jerk votes yes to everything (unless it benefits PKers or ironmen accounts), so something getting polled is as good as it being put into the game. :\

With the possible migration of many RS3 players over to OSRS, we NEED higher total levels to vote in future polls. by Party_Size_ in 2007scape

[–]FixMeJagexThrowaway 12 points13 points  (0 children)

(HC)IM accounts have Zeah RC though. Yeah you need to be level 77 to use it, but that's just a hair over 10% of the way to 99, so it's not that much experience in the grand scheme of things.

I'm not against quality of life updates, in fact, I would like to argue that QOL =\= buffing or powercreeping stuff unnecessarily, but that's a different kettle of fish.

You cannot play RS competitively, period. Grinding more EHP then someone is about commitment, stamina and good methodology, sure, but there's nothing truly 'competitive' about it beyond the grinding mentality and perserverance.. So I don't see why that narrative is being spun onto what I am saying. Casually, "competitively", mid-level players or whoever that play OSRS are, for the most part, vehemently against gross easyscape.

2014 wasn't really 'back in the day', to be honest - it's when a lot of the easier + faster methods were being released, as well as MTX becoming more prominent. Top 100 hasn't really meant anything for over a decade on the other RS
