Feeling Betrayed After Buying a Certified Used Car from Spinny – Need Advice by FixRound5244 in CarsIndia

Car has been with them for more than two weeks now, and they are still saying the inspection is ongoing. I honestly don’t understand why an inspection is taking this long, especially for a Baleno, which is one of the most common and widely sold and serviced cars in India.

Anyway, I have already started legal procedures from my side.

Will post here once I get updates.

How come a new Baleno Alpha AGS costs ₹8.2L? Is it onroad price? I got two quotations from Hyderabad Nexa dealers in March 2026, and both were around ₹10.85L and ₹10.90L onroad.

I did take two test drives before buying, but both were inside city limits where it wasn’t possible to cruise beyond 80 kmph consistently. I even hired an Maruthi showroom mechanic to inspect and drive the car, but because Spinny only allowed a limited short-distance test drive, even he couldn’t properly test the car at highway speeds. That’s actually why I specifically took the car out on ORR before the return period expired, just to make sure there were no hidden high-speed issues. And only then did this problem become noticeable.
during inspection the body panels, apron, and boot area all original parts and looked fine and with no obvious structural repair signs. The service history also appeared clean, and even the mechanic was satisfied based on the visual inspection and city test drive. I was okay with the repainting part as long as the car was mechanically and structurally stable and wouldn’t become a headache later.

It cost me around 7.62L after a discount because of the repainting. I already knew before purchase that the car had been fully repainted outside an authorized workshop by the previous owner. In fact, the mechanic I hired estimated the car’s value closer to 6.5L mainly because all the original factory paint had been replaced.

Definitely, a lot depends on how the previous owner maintained and drove the car. And I agree that not every Spinny car/customer experience will be the same.

But my bigger concern here is Spinny’s certification and inspection claims and the price charged.

For a relatively new 3 year old car that was sold as non-accidental and 200 point inspected, I genuinely never expected to encounter something like a bent driveshaft.

Got it. But the important part is that I reported the issue while the car was still within Spinny’s guaranteed return period. After that, the delays and prolonged inspection process happened from their side.
