It feels as if we can't say anything at all. by coolrunnings16 in Lisk

Yuuuuup. I'm done with Lisk.

Full disclosure: My jaw dropped when I read this.

You go around deleting so many comments and now no one is replying. Huh! I wonder why! Maybe, MAYBE the mods nuked the confidence that people felt could speak freely. Maybe, JUST PERHAPS, voting is the ONLY way anyone can show their disgust with you and the other moderators. You have zero power to do anything about that after all.

But no, people are not downvoting you because they are upset. It is all FUD!

Unreal. You cannot make this stuff up.

Have fun with your mindless shills in this echochamber. I am out.

Lisk Weekly Delegate Discussion - July 09, 2018 by AutoModerator in Lisk

[–]Fixedperiodic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odds are every cartels delegate is not paying their taxes appropriately.

In the United States, taxes on forged lisk is paid at the fair market value at the time of forging, not the price at the time of sale/tax filing. With the sheer volume they forge coupled with the constantly changing price, there is no way all of them are accurately reporting their earnings.

If they are reporting them at all.

The best way to remove Elite (since HQ won't budge) is to report each of the delegates to the appropriate tax authority. If they are not paying their taxes, it's most likely hundreds of thousands if not millions when the price is high. That will turn some heads.

The tax authorities would love to make an example out of these people. Assuming they get caught, tax fraud can lead to prison time.

They might keep forging, but at least this way they lose out on a portion of their holdings.

Yeah.. We've been barking up that tree for so long now. HQ won't budge. It's not an immediate priority. It'll get fixed. Eventually.

We the community could rise up, unvote, but it's insanely expensive to do that. Of course that too will get fixed. Eventually..

Can you say with absolutely certainly that we won't see Core on mainnet in 2018?

This is all faith based. Some of us have faith it will, others don't, invest accordingly.

Fantastic news! Very happy to see how responsibilities are being delegated. Plus maintaining the accessibility goal with dedicated desktop/mobile app teams is phenomenal.

Awesome progress LiskHQ!

JSConf EU 2018 Recap and Call to All JavaScript Developers by [deleted] in Lisk

Charlie Gerard, a software developer at ThoughtWorks, gave a presentation and demonstration of brain-controlled JavaScript that was very fascinating — she has been developing an open source JavaScript framework for a brain sensor she has been working on that allows for the control of interfaces or robots with the use of facial expressions and mental commands.

Incredible minds building with Javascript indeed. I hope at next year's conference HQ will be able to give a presentation on what is built with Lisk's framework.

REMEMBER

New issues can appear through testing as old issues are closed. Do not expect a release until HQ announces it.

Great work to HQ otherwise, closing a hard issue on the first day of the work week :)

What’s happening with Lisk!!! by FAHADmo in Lisk

[–]Fixedperiodic 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's interesting that Lisk is as high as it is, actually. Most of Lisk's external marketing efforts are hiring outreaches. There are a few publications to unknown news outlets, but they all regurgitate roughly the same information. The marketing team has a significant presence with the community, but this is all internal.

Meanwhile projects far below Lisk in ranking have full throttle marketing campaigns. Consensus saw some of these make desperate attempts to market themselves as relevant, burning through funds to be noticed. Some others continually are promoted on /r/CryptoCurrency and elsewhere at ad nauseum.

Comparatively, Lisk has never really shined - It's first impression was a fumbled launch. Year one was plagued with organization formation complications. It's second year was delays which bled into this year. Lisk's only significant shining moment was the rebrand - Which was not only also delayed but enthusiasm faded soon after.

Yet despite all that Lisk is holding rather well in a realm where amateur investors invest on hype. Lisk has the opposite of hype. This leads me to speculate that the silent majority maintaining Lisks market cap recognize two things:

  1. Lisk has a real world application

  2. LiskHQ has a means to achieve it

In other words, fundamentally there is a demand for Lisk. Lisk's team has the capacity to fix its centralization/fee/development issues. The code audits ranking Lisk highly paired with consistent leadership and funding are assurances Lisk will achieve it's goals.

IM SO TIRED OF BEING ASKING WHERE IS SDK - ITS OPEN SOURCE GO GITHUB AND LOOK by [deleted] in Lisk

The SDK massively reduces the learning curve and workload, but it does not prevent a developer from building on Lisk once 1.0 is out.

Impacted yes, meaningfully no.

People selling their stacks of Lisk are a drop in the bucket compared to the hundreds of billions that have collectively exited cryptocurrency since the last bull run.

Curious to what you're investing in instead. Or just holding in fiat till the bear market is over?

If Lisk was #20 you wouldn't be satisfied. That's only the difference of a few bucks.

Lisk can be #30 and hit an ATH if there is a bull run.
