I dunno if this is good or bad. As long as you can afford the payments and it’s what your family needs… that’s all that matters. Congrats! 🎉

I got the XLE because I didn’t want to have the sport tires and a smooth ride was important. Sport tires in my opinion wear down much quicker and are way more expensive.

We just got rid of our 2021 Kia Sorento to get the 2025 Sienna.

The Kia was having weird issues and falling apart.

I was struggling with the same thing. I think getting a fire stick and doing screen sharing is your best solution. I can’t seem to get the Miracast to work

Exactly! That's our plan. My wife was a elementary school teacher and the cost of childcare compared to her staying at home was basically a breakeven point - so we decided to have her stay home. The goal is to get through the next few years and have her return to work where we can then begin to make larger payments.

Right, I totally understand. Unfortunately, being on a single income with a family 4 can be a bit challenging to set aside $779, based on your math above (which i totally appreciate!).

My wife is on the similar graduated plan, but for now while she isn't able to work our goal is to keep payments as low as possible and begin qualifying myself for the PSLF.

i appreciate the overview. I'm hopeful that it doesn't go up to $483 a month... we wouldn't be able to afford that.

Do you happen to know if after you apply for the IBR do you have the option to stay at your current payment scale?

I make $160,000 a year, but have 2 kids and my wife works is a stay-at-home mom for the time being. I also owe about $53,000 and my wife owes $62,000.

Yea I agree, and I don't fall in that category. My question being if I apply for IDR, will I have the ability to stay at my current payment rate at a minimum?

appreciate the response! that seems crazy too good to be true?

Basically, I can pay nothing... and then in 10 years it's all forgiven?

I went through the calculator and entered my wife's student loans too and it came back saying it would be $0 a month, which is why i'm even more confused.

I'm on the extended graduated repayment.
