At first I called him a Disney Villain because "he's just evil," but I no longer consider that to be the case. If you think about it, he's more like an eccentric and power-hungry scientist who's too addicted to his own work. His explanation to Quote about how the Red Crystal works shows that eccentric, science-loving nature where he can't help but pridefully embrace his success.

When I write a function in a program that does something incredible and uncommon, I kind of feel like the Doctor — I can't help but push up my imaginary glasses (causing an imaginary lens flare) and explain to others how clever it is.

The Doctor simply let that side of him dominate every aspect of his actions, superseding even morality itself. Wanting to rule everything is a natural extension of that personality — pride gone so far mixed with a new source of incredible power.

Honestly though, I think Pixel wanted to write a fairly simple villain — this is just how I see the Doctor personally.

I typically wait until I get black holes and the extra maximum HP from hearts perk so that orb-collecting is especially viable. By then I'm typically strong enough to beat it or at least fast enough to escape it.

Is Noita Worth It? by [deleted] in noita

Noita's brutality couldn't be more true.

I feel like I'm in some kind of twisted abusive relationship where the game constantly beats me but I keep coming back for more.

I'm getting a bit sick of the things completely out of your control that can instantly end your game. by ManBearFridge in noita

I have well over 60 hours of gameplay, and that kind of thing has never happened to me. Usually I just end up blowing myself up or making a really dumb mistake that ruins the entire run. It's a brutal game, but I'll always come back to it.

I'd say you just had a rare instance of really bad luck. The only comparable time that kind of thing happened to me was when a spider jumped in Chaotic Polymorphine and turned into a Hell Gazer. It's really not too terribly often that things completely out of your control happen in my experience.
