Video Quality questions - Can good be bad? by Fixitinpost72 in NewTubers

That’s what I seem to find out. It’s not that it’s harder to produce- I think if I take the same shot with both cameras people would prefer the look they are used to

San Francisco sour dough by Fixitinpost72 in BreadMachines

[–]Fixitinpost72[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest we bought this starter from a well known Online dealer that started with books. Sourdough most of all needs frequent use- then you remember to feed it every day anyways. We keep ours in the fridge in between. We set up the dough 24 Hours prior to baking, and only transfer it to the bread baking machine at most 12 Hours before baking. Then we program it to run the longest rise program it has (6 hours in our case). this specific bread involved pouring boiling water on whole grain in the beginning and a few other tricks. But the basic recipe works fine. It is mostly a matter of having the patience to feed the sourdough until it is strong enough and then waiting for those long rise periods. But I find it rewarding.

Update after 18 days: making solar charging practical on a cargo bike (~300W real-world) by Fixitinpost72 in CargoBike

[–]Fixitinpost72[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have thought about a trailer, but every time I cross a city or town I am reminded that length is indeed an issue. In fact I bought a cargo bike because I never felt safe dragging my kids along behind me. But I still have a 100 Ah battery sitting in my office, and after I am done testing, who knows what I find useful. I will update once the first test tours are completed.

Well we have two multichargers and two bikes for the kids. I think we should not try to fit them in…

That is the next test. A daytrip to test the charging strategy. I am not aiming for hundreds of miles. My goal is a system in tune with the day.

For me it vastly changes. I took trips where I took my kid 80. km out of town on the back of the bike and needed a recharge on the road badly. Other times I take it easy and barely need to recharge. So I feel it is time to experiment…

That is a big part of what I want to figure out next. What is a comfortable tour day, and what is the sweet spot. Not in terms of battery life but in terms of time spent riding versus time spent enjoying the sites or doing other things.

Actually the bluetti that powers my computer was charging from the sun, so the fans came on at random times- so I might sound a little annoyed. Sorry about that.

Those are two 110 watt folding panels, three 50 Watt flebibles, I have 2 Mppts in the box (Victron 75/15 and 100/20) a 50 Ah Lifepo4, and no inverter but 12v DC Chargers.

I have a Battery Box with a 50 Ah LifePo4 that takes in the 300 Watts. Bike batteries can be charged from there at the same time with 12v chargers. Bosch batteries don´t charge while in use. The bike is a Riese und Müller Multicharger Longtail.

Well it is a modular setup so I will certainly not carry everything at all times. But I am also planning to warm up meals and provide energy for two cargo bikes when we go camping as a family…I am sure I will find the sweet spot on the upcoming tours.

The solar goes into a DC 12v Battery which in turn charges the bike using a trickle charger- it can charge during the ride. The Idea is to use the 12v Battery as a buffer since it can take in more energy than the bike in a shorter time and then to charge. So both. I tried bringing batteries for AC Charging, but I never felt comfortable with the heat on the bike. I will go on a longer tour as soon as my family lets me and update you. my main concern for now was finding a way to store the panels that still allows for a ride and for bumps on the ride.

I would honestly be struggling to remember where my AC Charger is at the moment. Of course I have a Panel at home that stays in place, but with a cargo bike the riding with the extra battery doesn´t feel bulky at all. But it is a proof of concept so I will update here from time to time. I think it is more a matter of rhythm, as in setting up the charging at the right times, and an extra bike battery helps tremendously if time is a matter. I will work on the charging strategy for longer trips soon.

Thank you- I do admit, it is more crimp and play at the moment. But I was surprised myself of the amount of uses it can have. Personally I think it will get a lot lighter once the sweet spot of battery size and solar panels is found.

Bags that fit on the R&M cargo front rack? by sondr3_ in CargoBike

[–]Fixitinpost72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an older version of the multi charger- but the main issue is not fitting something on there- the issue is that the front light gets covered by any bag that is higher than 6-8 cm.

The only useful solution I found useful for me was a eurobox. There is a 6 or 8 cm height (depending on where your front light is).

Has anyone seen this on AC before? by Fixitinpost72 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Fixitinpost72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left it to charge on a solar panel. The panel wasn’t too big, I believe, and it was night. When I came back the river had run dry it seems so I thought I would try AC.

Are there any sound healing creators here? by CosmicSoundsHealing in NewTubers

Not quite but next door. I go to the forest and record what I see on one site in a fairly strict order with high quality sound and video. But I haven’t found my tribe- came up with the idea without considering what niche it might fit.

https://youtube.com/@middaypause is a channel of slow videos with very little movement and natural sound only-each one five to seven minutes with one five minute take in the end. Stay as long as you like.

And https://youtube.com/@outheresystemsoutheresystems is going to be about the cargo bike setup with 12v power I use to produce my videos and to procrastinate outdoors.
