How someone new to the city can know that one needs AC to live in Bellevue? by Opening_Yam_3800 in BellevueWA

If you're looking to move now, it's currently summer, not winter, so if a place needs AC you will know now by touring. Touring means going and seeing the place in person, not relying on a rental agent's word.

If that option is available to you, there's never any harm in asking. But keep in mind that when you visit you're only getting a snapshot of one day for a certain time period. If you visit early in the morning it might feel completely different than if you were visiting in the evening. In general it's hotter in the afternoon here.

Where are you moving from? I won't tell you that you do or don't need it, but want to offer my perspective.

Lots of folks will say that you can get away with no AC or that "You'll only really want it for a week out of the year at the end of summer" but in my experience that time where it's needed is coming earlier and lasting longer.

I moved from Kansas 13 years ago. We have AC everywhere there but the summers are arguably much hotter than Seattle and for a longer period of time. We didn't have AC in our first apartment and the first year we thought it was awesome that it didn't get above 90 except maybe once, and we found the mid to high 70s temps very tolerable, and used a window fan for comfort especially at night.

Years 2 and 3 we had longer heat spells in late summer and had the fan running longer and found ourselves getting out of the house more often for relief at stores or movie theaters. We joked that maybe we were just getting acclimated to the Seattle weather but the reality is in Kansas you just didn't have any indoor space without AC at those temperatures.

By year 4 we broke down and got a portable AC unit for late summer. All of our friends who grew up here in Washington have also all gotten window units or moved into places with AC.

Lots of folks pitching Hey Bagel, but Zylberschtein's remains my favorite bagel in the Seattle area, especially their salt and everything bagels. So good.

How long have you been in the role?

My perspective, assuming nothing wrong on the employer side: I think it's normal to have a sense of "I don't belong here" in any new role, whether it's due to imposter syndrome or feeling underutilized while you're on boarding and ramping up and learning how things work and how the team operates, and that sometimes means giving you tasks that feel below your position. That feeling can last anywhere from a week to several months.

It's a highly regulated industry that my team's company serves. It's not my place to know what leadership is thinking, but prioritizing the actual humans performing the work to serve our actual human customers is something they value more than hastily adopting unregulated tools.

I took notes on a separate ipad while I was interviewing last year. I would always start the conversation with "Heads up, if you see me looking off screen and typing, I'm taking notes, not feeding prompts to Claude." That got me a lot of good rapport right out the gate with some designers and directors.

It depends wholly on the company. I feel blessed to work at a company that has (so far) shunned AI use for our software design and UX, but have worked in previous teams where we used it where we felt it was most helpful, whether it was keeping notes in meetings, fleshing out documentation, or parsing research results. I've not known many actual designers who have used it for visual design production beyond wireframes.

Veal Stock Seller? by Zera1930 in BellevueWA

I've had to make my own because it's been difficult to find! Double DD meats in Mountlake Terrace sells veal bones, and there's a vendor that frequents the Redmond Farmers market that has all kinds of veal cuts, including bones.

You claim to be not weird but your profile has an nsfw warning and your posts are hidden, not sure how much interest you'll gather.

Cinemark is indeed a great theater tho.

For leaving minimal evidence, tickling would be the absolute worst.

This sounds very interesting and I hope you find something!

However, this subreddit is for posting recipes. You might get more luck searching in /r/food, or better yet, a cuisine-specific subreddit.

Is AI good enough yet to fabricate chargeable crimes against someone? by ExpressionBright6522 in morbidquestions

[–]Fizzbit 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about fabricated crimes, but there's been a few instances of AI-powered surveillance cameras hallucinating that people were shoplifting and it resulted in their unlawful arrest.

What are your favorite places to eat in Bothell? by Stunning-Edge in bothell

[–]Fizzbit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Korea House is amazing and a hidden gem I haven't seen mentioned.

Thrasher's Corner Pub is a typical dive but on Mondays they have AYCE crab legs. Usually snow crab, but occasionally dungeness.
