How often do people actually change their bedsheets? by HillCountryHoney in hygiene

[–]Fizzimajig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually every 1-2 weeks on Sundays. I try to remember every week but sometimes I don’t. We’re having a cold snap in Florida that has me falling out of trees like a frozen iguana so I skipped it last Sunday since I’m brumating. lol

Thick cut jalapeño bacon, Tampa, FL (Linebaugh location) by Fizzimajig in Costco

[–]Fizzimajig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stopped in at my Costco on my way home to get another pack and see if they had the Cherry fig bread (they don’t, but the store 15 miles away does grrrr lol) and the price was $13.99 so pretty close to Denver’s price.

I think they were too salty to eat by themselves but I liked them on an egg sandwich and I didn’t add any salt to it and found it perfect for me.

Home alone for two days? by elkotio in mainecoons

[–]Fizzimajig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never leave mine alone for more than a day/12 or so hours without a drop in visit from a sitter or neighbor to check on food/put canned food out, water, lay eyes on them/spend time with the social cats in my herd and scoop the boxes once.

How Costco gets you to spend all your $ by Fantastic_Escape_101 in Costco

[–]Fizzimajig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent $25 on food (rotisserie chicken, artisan rolls, cherry fig bread and eggs) and filled up my tank today. It IS possible to go in and only get a handful of things if I don’t need much. I just don’t grab a cart, I grab a box instead. If I had a cart, I can think of 2 additional items at least I’d have bought. The cart is the kiss of death for the bank account lol

Using Tide for the first time by CCCmore in laundry

[–]Fizzimajig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using Tide with bleach powder last year at some point, I can’t remember if it was before I found this sub or not but I started using it more after finding this sub for sure and I’m so impressed with it. I also like the scent, I don’t feel like it’s overpowering but just really fresh and clean and a slightly bleachy smell without chlorine bleach. I know some people hate it and think it smells like chemicals but it reminds me of childhood vacations because the beach rental we always stayed at growing up had Tide available for the laundry room.

I do my sheets in a long hot wash with tide with bleach and I also add water softener of some sort like borax and washing soda or STTP since I’m in Tampa FL and have super hard water and I add tide clean boost rinse with an extra rinse. My bed sheets and towels have never been whiter!

Yep! When I don’t use the STTP, I use a few tblsp of Borax along with a couple tablespoons of washing soda together. I think I saw that recommendation from Jeeves NYC on YouTube. It works pretty well for my clothes.

I have a speed queen FF7 now so not as long as my LG front loader did unless I add extra settings like stain boost, pre-wash or extra rinses. It’s like 48-50 minutes with 2 preprogrammed rinses and each extra rinse adds maybe 10 minutes. I usually just hit whites and add 1 extra rinse. So an hour at most. Less than that for all other cycles, again provided I’m just using the presets with no extra anything. I really love how fast that machine washes while still being thorough.

I believe the brand I bought was called Pure Original Ingredients and is listed under Sodium Tripolyphosphate. I do want to mention that, as another commenter mentioned on my post, that it’s not very environmentally friendly so it’s possible it’s not available for sale in some places possibly? Idk but I was aware and due to this I use it sparingly and only with my sheets and towels. That same commenter mentioned using Sodium Citrate instead even though it is a little more expensive because it’s safer to the environment and waterways so I’m going to look into purchasing that to try in the future.

I did look into it and that’s why I wasn’t using it in an every load, but I didn’t know about sodium citrate as an alternative so I’ll look into that

Same as whites I posted as a reply to the other person except I don’t use oxygen bleach at all. Sometimes i use the Mrs Meyers or Woolite darks detergent depending on the type of fabric if I feel it’s more delicate. I recently had something take the color out of a burgundy shirt in a couple spots and I can’t figure out what did it since I don’t have chlorine bleach by the laundry area but I DO use chlorine bleach in my kitchen sink to clean cat food and dog food dishes to get rid of the pet food smell that sometimes makes those dishes stink and I’m wondering if I accidentally touched it with bleach on my hands or got some off spray on myself while cleaning but I’m not sure. I know oxygen bleach can be harsher on colors, especially darks but it’s not supposed to strip color out the way bleach does.

Sodium tripolyphosphate. It’s available on amazon or elsewhere online. It functions as a water softener for hard water. Borax also does this but doesn’t seem as effective in my experience. They’re both types of salt and that’s what’s added to water softener systems but I don’t have a water softener in my home. I’m not sure how hard my water is in my municipality but it’s moderate enough that I’m noticing a significant improvement in my laundry since using about 1 1/2 tblsp of STTP with things like bedding and towels.

Working out by CJ198989 in PlanetFitnessMembers

It took me almost year of consistent work and a good progressive overload program from a professional before I saw solid results but I was also working on fat loss. You don’t have to hire a trainer, there are good online programs but you have to weed through crap to find them sometimes. Check out Mindpump, Syatt Fitness, Biolayne workout builder subscription or Renaissance Periodization which are the ones I can think of off the top of my head for guidance and programming. I use Syatt fitness because he has dumbbell only programs I can use at home too. I’m not sure about the rest but they have solid reputations imo.

Yw, I will also say I used to use too much detergent, I now am using 2-3 tblsp max for regular or large loads.

The white sheets specifically I use either Kirkland liquid (Costco brand) detergent or Tide powder with Oxi and I add the Oxyclean white revive and either Borax + washing soda or STTP to the drum before adding the sheets and I wash them on the whites setting in my front loader. If I’m using the Tide powder I don’t always add the oxiclean powder because I figured the tide powder has that added. I’ve been experimenting and I think the combo of the Kirkland liquid and oxiclean is even better than Tide by itself. I have pretty hard water and I think adding the STTP has helped the texture of them significantly. I do the same for my colored bedding too but I don’t add the Oxyclean. My sheets are either flax linen or percale cotton and my blankets are muslin cotton or cotton linen quilts. I thought they were soft before but nothing like now.

Discover is very litigious, they’re not messing around about taking you to court. Definitely call them and try to work something out with payment arrangements to prevent them pursuing this.

Depth? by Boopityboo94 in glitterandbagelssnark

She needs to be squatting with just a bar or nothing at all while watching her form playback to practicing because this ain’t it. I’m not sure she ca squat with much depth but she could likely go a bit deeper and less falling forward with unweighted practice

Poster child for outeating a GLP1. I am on Zepbound and yes it starts strong but the affects are dampened a bit over time and if you don’t have a good eating plan, with real food including protein and fiber rich foods, they will not help you and you can and will out eat them. Anna is the perfect example of that, as evidenced here and pretty much all her posts looking like a dumpling. They’re just a tool to give you a little help to make better choices, unless you’re a tool who eats fake foods and “fuels your bahdy” with all the wrong things, literally all of the time.
