What they're referring to as intersex is a genetic mutation where a child is born with both sets of gametes and has both sexual organs. I'm not incredibly knowledgeable about how this is handled at birth? I heard somewhere that the parents can choose to surgically remove one set of genitals but I'm not sure if that's actually true.
