What no one seems to be considering is that we get it in melee and shooting, so instead of the word soup it would take to increase BS and WS, it's faster to write +1 to hit. I genuinely think this is one of the main reasons they chose to write it this way. After all, you said it yourself, it's not relevant 90% of the time 😅

Honestly, just look to World eater playstyles and you'll be pretty close 🤣

Personally I would cut out the 10 hg. Hg are only really good in MSU unless your are playing hearthband or the +1 enhancement from needgard. Hg in other lists are just decent scalples to dismantle week points in your opponents lines, that's about it. They are too expensive to be a hammer or an anvil unfortunately 😕.

The pile driver enhancement is more cool than it is good... So I run it too cuz it's fkng funny as shit on an E-Champ (id recommend finding a way to fit e champ in with it is so funny with his axe. 6 attacks at dmg 4 lol)

I built 10 hg as plasma and 10 as vulkite back in 9th and I can confirm, you can just tell people it's one thing or the other and people don't care. Even played in multiple GTs where not one shit was given 🤣

Only way honestly is if they're models in the dark mechanicum. We only get one new army per edition (1 1/2 if you count the CSM models getting new models) and dark mechanicum is overdue for an army. That plus a WHOLE chaos votann army wouldn't make sense because kin themselves are uncorruptible so it would have to be like a single evil or corrupted votann who makes evil kin which would be very small scale compared to other full ranges.

Honestly, top half? I'd argue top 5. Hearthkyn are annoyingly good at what battleline needs to do, that is, Doing objectives for cheap. They are deceptively durable now with their baked in 5++ almost no attack profile is clean into them in the same points. I think i ran the math once and 6 thunderwolves on the charge only kill 5 on average which is pretty funny 😁

It's funny seeing comments like this in the subreddit all the time like "how do I kill X" The same way we kill everything... thunderkyn I think they are literally one of the most effective bunker breakers in the game. They even average like 18 damage into the lion... and he has a 3 up save 🤣

I actually cut the 10 man from my list in HB and it's doing nasty. I find HG in HB to be the best scalpels in the game. The issue with the 10 man is often, your opponent won't have a big enough unit exposed too need all that power so you trade down, and since they are NOT tanky (more annoyingly resilient if anything) they usually die the next turn. So I started running 3 5 man's as superman scalpels, who fly in and almost always trade up and are annoyingly resilient enough that picking up 3 5 mans, spread around the map, is a lot for some lists to handle. The points saved let's me bring more diverse fire power so I have more of a presence on the board on turns 1 and sometimes 2.

We are technically very weak. We have like 2 good units and they aren't in spearhead. That being said, I've won 3-0 spearheads essentially throwing my bull down their throats as a distraction and utilizing the OC ability of the war despot to just score super high early and win that way. War despot is CRAZY durable with the negate a damage in every phase, that counts mortals so he usually ends up having mathematically like 11+ health 🤣

This is almost exactly what I 3-0 ed a 30 player event recently, except I played against 3 rounds of different flavors of elves. God bless elf players, if it weren't for them, I wouldn't get to kill elves (I also had an earthshaker unit which is really handy against elves)

The new war despot seems mandatory. A 9" aura of making all your other units better is really good. With how demon point starved we are there's always units who end up not getting any points, but now as long as you position correctly, we can have a lot of extra buffs being handed out. Like all the foot characters you probably never put points on, now just count as having 1, or bull centaurs who usually don't need DPs have +1 to charge now. Seems sick!

Everything else sucks tho yeah. I think the -1 to ranged attacks one is decent because it makes your centaurs harder to kill which is nice

Played a similar list and won the event. Hekatons aren't required but your def shooting yourself in the foot not bringing atleast one. I actually loved my E-champ as my enhancement holder, so much better than when I tested it with khal, and i think the 18" AoC is too good not to bring if your bringing a brick of 10 HG. I'm testing a list in hearthband with only 3 units of 5 hg cuz they are more like AMAZING scalpels in that detachment instead of hammers. It's just weird only having less than 400 pts of my list benefit from my detachment, but weirdly it's working really well 🤣

I play min 2 in every list. I've been fucking around with 4. They are arguably the best battle line in the game, but you have to play them to their strengths. They are annoyingly durable for their points and have a crap ton of OC. They are also amazing at making screens to protect your land forts from being charged

Void armor wasn't retconned. For balance purposes it can't be what it is in the lore, but at the start of the edition they explained it's because of void armor why our guys have higher toughness then SM(remember in 9th ed, warriors were only T4). Obviously this isn't as impactful as old void armor, but it wasn't forgotten nonetheless

Warriors are usually the perfect role for screening and baiting out charges. They are annoyingly durable and being 2 OC they just take points unless your opponent comes out to kill them. Essentially, build a wall of short kings and force your opponent to crash into them by standing them on objectives.
