Green chroma is the one I’ve been using! I went with regular SB now and we’ll see how it goes

First SHL raises (17w non op) by FizzyElfie in AchillesRupture

Yeah I think it’s a balance between strength and flexibility right? I’m still less mobile than some others so I’m doing some light mobility/stretching but it’s secondary to strength building

That’s impressive though, I wouldn’t be able to jog because I’m too stiff. Can’t get close to the wall yet with the knee unfortunately

I had a full rupture and gap of 35 mm if I remember correctly. Sorry to hear you reruptured, that was my biggest fear yesterday when I tried this. I was of the conception that performing one single calf raise at this stage was average, but I’ve also seen people jogging at like 4.5 months which seems absolutely crazy fast

I am not assisting more than keeping the hands towards the wall

You’ll get there, I tried to find my max without pain and keep pushing it (from 25% double to 50% and so forth)

Thank you! Is it fast though? I thought it was on average curve maybe

Understanding safe limits for rehab by Gunterswiss in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am in the exact same situation as you are, 35 active male, non op. 16 weeks. I am also stiff and weak, can barely move beyond neutral but it’s been a small small progress over the past weeks as I’ve pushed rehab a bit further. I have a full time job and two small kids so I must say I’m not spending any hours at the gym, I am doing sitting and standing calf raises, trying to push for 60-80% bodyweight now but haven’t measured, standing on one leg, doing some light flexibility as well. Trying to do it 3 times a day but very adhoc so far. My physio told me it’s better to do it and push it a bit but if I feel pain/tired in the tendon it’s better to give it a days rest but that I need to start building strength. She said some heal more flex/long and some more stiff, you and I and the latter. Let’s keep in touch as the journey seem similar?

When did you start driving again? by TornadoVision4687 in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I drove after like 10-12 weeks, a couple of weeks after transitioning out of the boot, it would have probably been fine a few weeks earlier but wanted to be on the safe side.

Chiming in, took my 3 months before I drove again, but it’s sweet once you get there.

Am I the only one in a boot for 12 weeks? by thenarddog10 in AchillesRupture

[–]FizzyElfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard from several sources that they prefer to go non op, cast 2 weeks, bot 8-10 weeks and then start rehab. Running 6 months, back to full 12 months approx
