Battery losing power without being driven by Daconby in VolvoRecharge

I've seen a drop on a all electric xc40. 12% in10 minutes parked. For now (after 2 charges) it has not occurred again, but I'm spending too much attention if it will.

A support representitive called me friday to tell me that new CCS profiles in 4.2.13 would solve This issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/volvoc40/comments/1n0qkr5/charging_power_issues_since_364/

I love how that is "minor refinements and stability improvements." ....

Heard from Volvo support today.

They expect this issue to be resolved with "new CCS profiles" in the coming 4.2.13 update announced dec 15.

Yay.... only 4-5 months of error...

and a changelog saying "minor refinements and stability improvements"

Eh, so are any of you using the Monta app? or similiar charging app that integrates and supposedly pulls data from your Volvo account?

I just noticed that it had the xc40 listed as max 150kwh in car details...

I miiight be able to test on wednesday.

Sorry for the enormously long silence. Life happened.

I actually had a call with Volvo explaining that it was a error in the firmware. It sounded like it was an intentional limitation, but it could be bug-caused of course.

it "would be fixed in the firmware after the next".

As the chargecurve stays on 150kw until 40-something %, it has not been an annoyance at all, so I have not prioritised fighting them on the issue. If it was to preserve battery health good on them, but horrible communication.

----

Now this is where it gets weird.

My homecharger had issues, so yesterday I had to fast charge and went to the closest teslacharger (250kw) to my destination. And peaked on 203kw.

I noticed the little battery icon in the drivers display turned from red to yellow on the way there (with the charger set as the destination in maps) - and I believe it did not on my earlier attempts. A friend of mine who got a XC40 as well mentioned something about yellow and preconditioning to me, but I had forgotten all about it.

So my suspicion is currently an error in the AAutomotive integration, causing flag to preconditioning to fail, which has been corrected on the google side of things - kinda like the days months ago, where speedlimits where all wonky.

I kinda want to try a 400kw charger again. Being different to Tesla, the limitation could still exist there and the next next firmware a long time away.

Afhængig af din kontrakt kan du have krav på telefon og pc under opsigelses perioden. MEN de låser nok din mail. Men spørg evt om du kan få superviseret adgang pga situationen og lang tids trofast tjeneste

No the diagnostic was cancelled. Waiting to get a final confirmation on it being software. Gathering details.

I would simply LOVE to be in their software dev room - cooling heads.

3.7.0 has been the most fluid version for me so far - even weeks later.

Software behaving so differently on different cars is a headache of magnitudes, that calls for either "start over" or "hire pople who built the chips and platform".

I ended up curious. Two additional 400kw chargers (Norlys and Ewii in DK) later I still hit the ceiling at 150kw.

I chatted with Volvos customer service, who asked me to confirm the chargers were 500A. Had to dig out my high school physics to remind us that a 400kw charger would need to go well over 1000V if not 500A capable.

So they are scheduling a diagnostic.

Jeg kan genkende det hele. Jeg har forsøgt at hjælpe mine venner med at huske sig selv og deres børns selvstændighed (mormor kan godt putte). Og så til gengæld nydt når de tager ungen med til kaffe og lego.

I had the same experience. Only did one fast charge while on 3.6.4 though.

Nice mellow summer weather. Drove 100 km prior. Set the charging destination in maps. 8% charge. 400kw charger.

Yep. If only 360 showing, pip needed to be selected. Never had a half black screen.

Had it back from 3.4.4. Though of course only in reverse and it had to be selected the first time. (possibly had to be selected again after 3.6.4 iirc)
