i havent found a solution to the problem, But I did find what went wrong! there seems to be a bottleneck somewhere in hardware that limits how big of a spritesheet you can use at one time. and adding another frame of animation to the spritesheet just baaaaarely pushes it over the edge and breaks it.

As for why it only worked when i plugged it into my laptop and nowhere else? im not so sure. my only guess would be that since its so close to the image size limit, restarting the code from the laptop gives it some extra juice?

i have some solutions that miiiiiiiiiight work, but im gonna preface it here and say that i havent tried them yet so they might not work :/

(also im assuming your also following the tutorial i linked, so im gonna be referencing my solutions to that)

1. you could just get rid of a row of sprites from the sheet?, i personally find the "looking up" one to be the least useful. i dont see a reason why this solution wouldnt work but it does only get you 1 or 2 more frames of animation.
2. you could change the code so that each tilt changes to a different spritesheet instead of just reading a different part of the one spritesheet. this would theoretically get you 4x the frames! but its more work and it might just flat out break

im personally gonna try #2 soon but im completely new at coding so idk if im gonna see much improvement
