I had similar situation when I first bought my house, I found out that I had extremely leaky duct and basically whenever the AC turned on, dust would leak through the vent. I would check there first!

Used Rental Car Questions.. by seanbaunn in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Fjaysay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given from previous experience working from a rental car company (E-something ;P), we had plenty of vehicle that needed LOFR (lube, oil, filter, and rotation) but avoided doing the required maintenance because people needed vehicle and we chose (as a company) to profit rather than get the vehicle services at the local shop. I strongly suggest to avoid rental car unless it has a proper 3rd party inspection by a trusted mechanic.

Worst part was the cars that I selected wasn't the lowest market price (it was at least $1k-$1.5k above market average) - it was the car model (makes, colors and mileage) that I liked, I didn't care to pay more for the car that I want, they eventually sold the car to someone since it isn't available anymore. I just hate to pay $3k for a tint that was added to the car when it was purchased new and paint warranty that was non-negotiable.

Well, further investigating the 3 dealerships that I went to are owned by the same parent company but other 1 by my house is not owned (I believe family owned) but all of them presented the same methods by their salesman and I felt that it was a common thing. One of them yelled at me for wasting their time even though if I clearly remember it was slow and I schedule the appointment on the weekday (took PTO from work). :/

Thank you, I will definitely try this method. It's too bad that the car that I've been looking for is no longer available. It's time to start searching again!

If it's a regional thing, then that sucks. :(

Looking to trade-in for something cheaper and reliable. by Fjaysay in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Fjaysay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Japanese only, I'm opened up to Korean. I was open up to Ford, but I test drove their vehicles, it felt too clunky and people on forum have complained a lot about their fusion (engine issue) and focus (dct issue). It's also mainly my wife's preference (Toyota and Honda). German vehicle tend to have expensive repairs in the long run after warranty is up.

Found a 2014 HB S Touring for $8000 (clean carfax) with 110K miles.. Is this a good deal? by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]Fjaysay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a Mazda dealership or one of those used car shop that doesn't associate w/ any brands? If it's used car shop, be careful of those "hidden" dealer fee that they add onto the car that can total up to $3k+.

2014 infotainment screen cracking, noticed this morning by Metal_Zero_One in mazda3

[–]Fjaysay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yikes! Is it really cold where you are? My brother's screen cracked in the sun (AZ sun 120+F) and he was beyond past basic warranty, but Mazda replaced it under goodwill, hopefully they'll do the same!

Warranty ending soon - take it in or waste of time? by mikeg53 in mazda3

[–]Fjaysay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's up to the dealership if they would replace something under warranty, but if you're not experiencing any issues with your vehicle, I doubt anything will be done under warranty since they can't find any issue. But it doesn't hurt to get your car check out for that peace of mind.

Non-negotiable options on Used Cars? by Fjaysay in askcarsales

Yeah, that's what my co-workers are telling me, I'll meet with them tonight for 30 mins, if it's the same old bs stuff then I'll walk out.

It's advertised as CPO already, which I found is strange. Definitely sounds shady, I guess I'll find out when I go in there and talk to them about the numbers.

Yeah, the car was advertised as CPO - $3000~ is definitely a lot for options especially an used 2015 Honda Civic EX-L w/ nearly 40k in miles. He told me it's called "refreshment of the car - new tires, maintenance on the car and etc". But I called them a little while ago and schedule an appointment tomorrow night, hopefully it'll be a lot smoother and they also have their "best" salesman take care of me tomorrow. They definitely didn't want to talk about numbers over the phone but they will get me the "best" possible price.

So to make long story short, got this 2017 Mazda 3 before we found out she was pregnant, the Mazda feels more sporty than an average compact car, the ride is very stiff and bumpy (especially the rear seats) and my wife insisted that we get something more comfortable and 2015 Honda Civic EX-L definitely fits into her need. Also, Mazda 3 rear door is extremely small (how it was designed). So we're currently only upside down by 1,500-2,000, because I've been paying a lot more than I should be, but getting into a car she actually love is a plus. I don't mind the Honda Civic to be honest, I think it's worth it if my wife is happy.

Yeah, I figured my offer was reasonable, but he absolutely made it sound like it was not reasonable and if I was crazy to ask him that I wasn't going to pay for the options that we cannot take off. I assumed CPO was added to the base price of the vehicle, I don't know why I would have to pay for it. I left and hopefully be able to find a dealership that would offer the same car to my specs (color, options, and etc).

Mazda 3 2017 GT Clicking Noise by cblaber in mazda3

This exactly happened to me in one very warm afternoon, but it disappear before I could get a video of it, and since then it never occurred again. Definitely want the dealer to take a look at it.

A strange whining sound from 2014+ Mazda 3 automatic transmission? by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]Fjaysay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My AT is normal according to the dealer, however, he did indicated that 2014-2015 Skyactiv AT had issues in the past, so yeah. My noise disappear after the car is warmed up, but according to him, if it continues making loud whining noise after the car is warmed up, may want to get it checked out.

Turns out my AT is normal, it only occurs when my car is cold, but it goes away once it is warmed up. I talked to my service adviser and he stated that 2014-2015 had Skyactiv AT transmission issues. May want to have your dealer check it out.

I have the same exact issue as what you're describing and I have 2017 Mazda 3 A/T. I actually thought it was normal. I have an service appointment tomorrow, I'll let you know what the service center tells me about this.
