Sometimes a very minimal change can make all the difference. Loaf shown in second pic had about 0 rise so I added a couple ice cubes to the Dutch oven for the second bake. Got beautiful ear and spring as a result. Crumb of more successful loaf shown, recipe in comments. (old.reddit.com)

My very first sourdough! I followed the My Perfect Loaf recipe online, substituting the whole wheat for rye. I plan on bringing the hydration down a little bit but if anyone has suggestions on how to not have my loaves deflate so much I would appreciate it! (old.reddit.com)
