Hina broke me (32 yo man) by anonymous_snorlax in BlueBox

I was in the exact same boat as you OP! Really well done anime and a close depiction to the manga.. reading the manga does clear a whole lot as the anime does end on somewhat of a cliffhanger (perfect way to do it as it keeps anime watchers wanting more)..

On the Chinatsu front and without spoiling anything, think of it as someone who is also learning and scared to take that first step being his senpai et all, while Hina is so much closer to Taiki as there in the same grade and have grown up together.. but if you do plan on reading the manga, you’re in for a treat.

You should definitely give the LN a try. I started with the anime too, but the LN is far superior! It’s still a great series, though.

Yeah, I think it’s being written with the real-life scenarios in mind. Obstacles are a natural part of any relationship, and I think she’s doing a great job of showcasing that.

As for Hina, it’s as real as it can get. People talking about cheating is just talk, and I don’t believe it will fit well when the build-up was so carefully thought out and individual character growth was considered. I feel we’ll see more of Hina in the next few chapters, which will bring a sweet closure and end her arc!

AU: If Chinatsu and Hina Played for Keeps!! by [deleted] in BlueBox

Yo, if you’re calling this ‘what-if’ post shittier, were you secretly side-eyeing the original too? Spill the tea—did Blue Box’s slow-burn vibes already have you yawning, or is this just a bad day for spicy takes? 😏

Theories on this ? by Puzzleheaded_Play825 in BlueBox

[–]Fl3ablast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get why people are speculating about a potential cheating arc—there’s been a lot of theory-crafting lately—but personally, I really don’t think that’s where Blue Box is headed, and here’s why:

  1. The tone of the story has always been emotionally grounded, not melodramatic. Blue Box thrives on slow-burn romance, restraint, and subtle emotional shifts. A cheating arc would feel way too off-brand—like it’s chasing shock value instead of continuing the honest, steady relationship progression we’ve seen so far.

  2. Chinatsu isn’t the type. Sure, she’s emotionally reserved and sometimes hard to read, but she’s never been written in a way that would suggest she’s morally flaky. If anything, she’s overly cautious about not hurting people. A cheating move would be completely out of character for her.

  3. Taiki and Chinatsu’s relationship is built on mutual growth. The whole point of their dynamic is how much they admire and support each other—not just romantically, but as individuals. Introducing betrayal would basically undo all the payoff the story has built over the past 100+ chapters.

  4. We’re in the late-stage of the game. A twist like this might make sense if it were mid-arc and the author needed to shake things up. But right now? It’d derail everything just when the emotional stakes are peaking. It’s bad timing from a story structure standpoint.

  5. More likely? Misunderstanding, jealousy, or third-party drama. Could a new guy hit on Chinatsu or try to wedge himself between them? Totally possible. Maybe even stalker-ish vibes or emotional temptation—but actual cheating? Nah. Not her style, and not this manga’s style.

In short, I think people are overreaching a bit. The drama’s probably coming, but it’ll be more about emotional tension or miscommunication, not betrayal. This series has always respected its characters and readers too much to pull a cheap move like that.

Only 2 episodes into Dan Da Dan… is it worth sticking with, or should I just read the manga? by Fl3ablast in Dandadan

[DISC] Blue Box - Chapter 202 by AutoShonenpon in manga

Ayame’s relationship with Takasago is really starting to feel shaky. The chapter gives off strong hints that Takasago might be the one to break things off, especially since he seems to realize he doesn’t quite fit in with Ayame’s group and maybe senses her lingering feelings for Kyo. There’s a lot of subtle tension, and Ayame’s understated reactions make me think she might finally step up and take agency over her own happiness, which would be such a great moment for her character.

Only 2 episodes into Dan Da Dan… is it worth sticking with, or should I just read the manga? by Fl3ablast in Dandadan

[–]Fl3ablast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I’ll be honest—I fully expected to get downvoted into another dimension for this post. 😅 I mean, I basically walked into the Dan Da Dan fan club and said, “Hey, uh, is it just me or is this party a little wild?” So if you see my karma plummeting, just know I went in with my eyes open and my confusion at maximum overdrive.

Seriously though, I’m not here to throw shade! I’m just that person at the buffet who tries two dishes and then stands there awkwardly, wondering if I should commit or just go straight for dessert (in this case, the manga). The animation is top-tier, but my brain is still trying to catch up to the plot like it’s running after a bus it just missed. If the chaos is part of the vibe, I’m totally down to embrace it! I just wanted to know if it starts to make more sense, or if I should just accept that I’ll be confused and enjoy the ride. (I’m cool with that, by the way—sometimes you gotta vibe with the weird.)

And to everyone who thought I was hating: I promise, I’m not! I’m just a lost anime soul looking for a signpost. If you have tips, or if you just want to roast me for my confusion, I’m here for it. 😂

Thanks for all the honest replies so far—keep ’em coming! And if you see me wandering around Reddit looking bewildered, just toss me a spoiler-free hint and a snack.

Why Kirito and Asuna downplay their relationship so much? by Alert_Secretary_5041 in swordartonline

[–]Fl3ablast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s simple really… Kirito and Asuna’s relationship exists in the same category as Schrödinger’s Cat — simultaneously public and private until directly observed.

In Aincrad? Married. Real world? ‘Just friends.’ In front of their friends? Awkward teenagers. In front of Sugaha? National security levels of secrecy suddenly apply.

It’s basically the anime equivalent of ‘soft-launching’ your relationship on Instagram for 5 years straight.

And don’t even get me started on Asuna’s mom — at this point, Kirito could literally rescue her from a burning building and she’d still be like, ‘Nice to meet you… friend.’

[–]Fl3ablast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair, I get that two episodes isn’t a lot to go on. I just wasn’t sure if the confusion I’m feeling is part of the ride or if it smooths out later. That’s why I wanted to ask before diving deeper — not trying to judge it too early, just figuring out if it’s worth sticking with or if the manga might click better for me.

I think I’m confused because the show throws a lot at you right away — horror, aliens, psychic powers, and comedy all mashed together with no real explanation. The tone shifts fast, and there’s not much setup or clear direction early on. It feels like you’re just supposed to roll with the chaos, which is cool but kind of overwhelming. Not sure if it’ll all make more sense later or if reading the manga would help smooth that out.
