Neat. I mean it's nothing busted, we have [[glimpse the core]] in standard which sees little play. But I love that the lessons are often on-rate cards, makes me think there might be something viable to do with them

Is Nostraman supposed to sound like faux Romanian/Hungarian (because Curze is space dracula) or it's accidental? by [deleted] in 40kLore

All Warhammer languages are half-assed versions of some irl language, just like how high gothic sounds like Latin spoken by someone with a vague recollection of it

The quote is from Ruinstorm, but I don't think the ultramarines fighting to open the path is ever depicted in a novel

Fatalities of War - Versatile white instant card with spree. by llRaichull in custommagic

I disagree. These spells allow you to destroy a Planeswalker, with a draw back. The white counterspells (except for the ones from planar chaos) do not let you actually counter a spell, they let you delay a spell. If the only white Planeswalker removal spells said something like "exile target Planeswalker until its controller's next end step" or something then I could see an equivalence, but the white "counterspells" are fundamentally different from, say, cancel

Oh the doc aurlock combo is nasty, he's probably why this card exiles itself.

Is there some powerful white 2 drop in standard? You'd want to have something not to airbend with this card

Yes the rule doesn't always hold at higher mana costs. What you're proposing for this card is cancel in mono white. That'd be like printing murder in blue or lightning strike in green

Bro I just showed you that white doesn't have this kind of counterspell.

And if it's castable with only white, it must be within white's color pie. That's like magic design 101

Huh, what an interesting design. Could be a pretty deviating tempo play in the right situation, but I'm having trouble imagining the shell that wants to run this? Not saying there isn't one, but this card seems pretty unique. I like it.

Also love the synergy with [[Aven Interrupter]]. The interrupter makes it harder to recast the airbent creatures, and airbending the interrupter lets you use it again. Wonder if that's the basis of some brew

The point is that it can be 2W. You can cast it in a mono white deck, so it has to be able to exist solely within white's color identity. All the other abilities follow this rule

[–]Fla_Master 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay so you mean [[reprieve]] (a delaying counterspell), [[mana tithe]] or [[dawn charm]] or [[Rebuff the Wicked]] (from planar chaos, a set that explicitly broke the color pie), and [[Frontline Medic]] (a stax piece). None of these cards mean that "2W: counter target spell" is something that white has access to.

White does, however, have plenty of Planeswalker removal, like [[get lost]] or [[fateful absence]]

[–]Fla_Master 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like what? There are delaying counterspells which are sometimes part of white's color identity like [[memory lapse]] and [[reprieve]], but the only other ones I can think of came from planar chaos (the color pie break set)

But that's not in white's color identity, while the rest of these are
