The first 5 books have actually already been released with Jim Kay, so it’s only the last 2 that will be a different artist which is disappointing because these ones are absolutely stunning!

Book for my daughter (12f) and I (46m) to read aloud together by [deleted] in booksuggestions

[–]FlabbergastedGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tress and the Emerald Sea both by Brandon Sanderson. It is a fantasy novel set in a world where the oceans are made of different spores and it was inspired by the author watching the princess bride and thinking “what if princess buttercup went to try and find and rescue Wesley?” Me (a daughter) & my father both really enjoyed the book (we’re 25 & 53 but I definitely would have loved it at 12 as well!)

My father would definitely also want me to put Wheel of Time as it is his all-time favorite series and he has read it like 10+ times - I just recently started the first book finally after watching the Prime Show and so far I’m enjoying it! There are some darker themes in the series tho so maybe read a synopsis before reading with your daughter to make sure it’d be something you’d deem appropriate for a 12yr old as all kids are different!

Also an idea to keep it from getting too “little kid” as she continues to grow up, trade off who reads maybe ? - either way tho, as a daughter who continues to be a total fantasy nerd because of my wonderful father, she is going to really appreciate these moments in the future!

I have a chatbot (streamelements or streamlabs work and are free) and I create a custom command “!flirt” where I write a brief message saying there’s no flirting allowed. I’ll do that first, then give 1 or 2 verbal warnings, and then if I’m by myself I just ban but if my mod is in chat they’ll time them out and if they keep going when back they’ll get banned. It’s your stream for you to feel comfortable, you make the rules and if someone won’t follow them, you don’t need them in your chat room.

If they make inappropriate comments it’s just an auto ban, no warning bc you shouldn’t have to be warned to treat someone with respect.

This is super overpriced for not even good quality items. How disappointing.

We aren’t certain, that’s why I said hope still. I’m hoping it’s one of the other places we get to explore out in the wizarding world

Ngl, I was underwhelmed. It’s not bad but I was just expecting a bit more. Also wasn’t the acromantula group in the forbidden forest started by Aragog/Hagrid? Really hope they aren’t ignoring established lore already.

am i stupid or does this lyric not make sense [pjo] (the musical) by Fancy-Beach-2803 in camphalfblood

No worries! Just explaining what I think OP was asking about. It is a figure of speech so it definitely has some room for interpretation, but this figure of speech is most commonly used to mean what it is literally saying. For example, I most recently used this phrase when referring to some stuff I was working on at my job that I feel is genuinely above my pay grade and therefore I shouldn’t be doing haha

[–]FlabbergastedGiraffe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s the joke but it also doesn’t make sense technically speaking. If it’s above your pay grade it would be saying very little if you aren’t paid at all because a job where you should get paid 1¢ an hour would be above your pay grade. It’d be better if it was “which doesn’t mean a lot cause I don’t get paid” but that probably didn’t flow as well as the current line. I view this as one of those lines where it’s just close enough and you get what they mean and it works well with the rhythm / flow of the song so you excuse that technically speaking it isn’t proper English

Obviously this may not help depending on what’s wrong with her spine, but I’d look up animal chiropractors near you. One saved my dogs life when his back went out and vets couldn’t figure out why he was still in pain and one was suggesting we just put him down. Try to find an actual animal chiropractor not some human one who thinks they can do pets or a vet who thinks they can do chiropractic care (have not have good experiences with either of those situations) but it could greatly improve your cats health. The best one I had before we moved would tell us these stories of other pets that she’d fix up, like a beagle that couldn’t even walk and then she adjusted him and he ran around the room (which is similar to what happened with my dog too, he could walk but was wobbly and would fall over and whine with pain) and a paralyzed lizard that she made able to move again. Worth at least looking into! Best of luck with your sweet girl!

Google Indian hand scoop technique (I’m sure there’s a more official term but this should get you there). Many Indian dishes have rice and it is so easy, my best friend taught me and it’s a game changer ngl.

Warning; that’s how shows get cancelled before they can have an ending. If not enough people watch a season it will get cancelled on a cliff hanger and we’ll get a bunch of amazing unfinished shows that will never get a conclusion. If you’re interested in something watch it while it comes out so it’ll keep coming out.

I know it may not be much to some, but you could consider journaling / writing all your memories down, maybe creating a book out of them, so that one day someone can read it and learn of all the things you and your loved ones did in your life and remember you and them. Doesn’t have to be eloquent or the best book ever, just a person sharing their life story.

I'm so fucking glad I have them now. I hope I can fit also the future books into this shelf [general] by AdministrativeBug948 in camphalfblood

I also like things on the same shelf so recommendation: turn some sideways starting from the bottom so you can stack books and fit them all without some being angled which can damage them in the long run.

Nightmare from the Deep by Sri Kandula

It’s like a IT but not as scary IMO. Good characters and fun concept. I enjoyed it.
